Schools around the world can be very diverse but at the core they will have similar principles. AFNorth and St. Ursula are a fine example of this, AFNorth being an International School and ST. Ursula being a private school. They house different students and are even in different countries but some classes can be the same. Kids at St. Ursula can do things such as Beekeeping, using key cards for paying for lunch, and so on. People who are at AFNorth can compete in sports through Europe, hang out with students from different countries, and so on. AFNorth is not only different in comparing itself with St. Ursula but with most if not all other American schools. This is primarily due to the environment and atmosphere the students and teachers work in at this school. One of the key things you will find at the school is how much we are base our learning with technology, doing things such as making powerpoints, using Smart Boards, and online courses. Students are acquainted with multiple …show more content…
Ursula is I would say a more typical school in a country. I guess as a result of it being a more typical school they would have a lot more students, over 1000 students attending St. Ursula. Their lunch is a stark difference from ours due to them A) using a key card to pay for meals and B) having a catering company. The students can also purchase snacks throughout passing periods which is quite a difference from AFNorth. With differences there comes similarities and there will always be similarities across schools, and St. Ursula comparing with AFNorth is no exception. Many of the core classes are taught such as math, science, history, and so on. Both schools have extracurricular activities but of course the two schools don’t have the same exact ones. This may seem like an obvious similarity and that is because it is but they are both boy and girl schools. It isn’t such a farfetched similarity though due to St. Ursula is a mostly christian school and could have been just a nun
There are some that say it’s all about location, location, location. Iowa State is located in Ames, Iowa. Ames is a small city in the middle of Iowa. It’s about three hours away from where I live in Davenport, Iowa. Iowa is located in Iowa City, Iowa. It’s also a small city, but it is located more east than Iowa State. Iowa is about an hour away from where I live. The weather at these two schools are very much the same, but that’s because they are so close. Snowy and cold in the winter, and hot and humid in the summer.
Comparing Appalachian State and Tuskegee University there seem to some of the slightest similarities with the two schools. They were both created to better the education and lifestyles of people who lived in the area the primarily tried to target with their creation. Both focusing on the education
Another reason Westover and Darton are similar is because of the quality of the teachers. I believe that both schools have some of the most amazing teachers a school could have. During my sophomore year of Westover, I had this insanely intelligent chemistry
Initially, the first major difference I noted in comparing my high school to Covenant College was each school’s sole purpose in educating the student
For my observation, I went and visited Ivor Dent school, Ivor Dent is the new school that has opened near Abbottsfield, Edmonton. The school was named after a man named Ivor Dent, he is most well known for opening the LRT system, however he was also the principal of Rundle School in 1980. This is important to note, since Ivor Dent opened three other schools in the neighbourhood were closed, Rundle elementary school, Lawton elementary and R.J. Scott Junior high. Due to the mix of the three schools Ivor Dent welcomes kids from kindergarten all the way to grade nine, this year they have had 423 students enroll. This school has been built in a low-income community and is labelled as an inner-city school. To meet the extraordinary needs of all their students Ivor dent offers regular classroom programs, behavioral and learning assistance program and full day kindergarten. Ivor Dent is based on the four corner stones that all Edmonton public schools follow: equity, accountability, collaboration, and integrity.
The first similarity is that there schedules are very similar, only differing by 1-2 minutes at most. Giving teachers at both schools equal amounts of time to teach the material and gives students equal amounts of time to learn the material. However despite the similar class times and school
San Pasqual Academy (SPA) and Carlisle school residential had many similarities even though they are separated by over 100 years. One major similarity in both school is that the students lived away from their families. For example the students in Carlisle were taken far away from home to keep the students away from their families’
Mt St Helen May 18th, 1980 the erosion rose 80,000 feet making ash go to 11 U.S states making snow, ice, and glaciers melt forming volcanic mud slides that reached as far as the columbian river (50 miles to the south east) 57 people died in washington.
If children who have moved to a new school in the same state had to choose their favorite school, then some mixed reviews will occur. Some of these children may prefer their previous school while the others may prefer the new one. If asked to develop a list of similarities and differences between the schools, then, as a result, various children will say that the two schools are similar. Now apply this same scenario to a group of children who have moved to schools in a different state, the children would say that the two schools are like night and day. This is true in the case of Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Ridgeview High School in Orange Park, Florida. A handful of people who believe this to be untrue. These people believe that regardless of location, two schools
These different components have a place in every school which defines the school and its environment, as to what the role is and how strong of an impact it has on the students and wider community. Schools differ from principal to principal, town to town, state to state and country to country. They all carry different values and beliefs creating a sense of place within the school and the wider community. For the students they
First, the author assumes that the difference in performance can be directly attributed to the difference in the amount of homework given. Perhaps the quality of the teachers in Marlee is better than that of the high schools in Sanlee. Or, it could be that the schools have different standards for their students. Is there standardized testing in Attra? Perhaps students in Sanlee are failing in other subjects, not science or math. How are they doing in these other classes? Without the answers to the questions, the author can not assume that the homework makes a difference in student success.
I believe that even though students have the same opportunities and environment in the same exact classroom, they are all still not receiving the same education. This all depends on their mental capacities, the amount of attention they give, and if they understand the assignments and lectures. Everyone can have different experiences and take in different information even though being in the same
I began researching private high schools with exceptional academics on my own and came across The Academy of the Holy Angels (AHA). The idea of attending a Catholic school was foreign, yet exciting. What I liked most about the school was its mission to educate and challenge its students to their full potential. Besides the challenging academics, the athletics and performing arts department also captured my
Maybe the select few people who have made a speech say that their last school year at Pomeroy was amazing- that there was nothing like it. Others might say that it was normal. I’m slightly one of those people.
The quality of teaching and the expectations of the students differ from the two schools. Advocates of private school argue that the education received in one of these facilities is more valuable and
