Spotlight would be an Android and iOS mobile phone app that students can go into to report and check on the availability of parking on campus. The home page would be a menu where you can select the parking lot you want to check. They would go by alphabetical order of the names of the parking lots (Brindle, Campus Safety, Gloucester, Hawthorne, Kennedy, Solar, Standish, Stoneridge, and Overflow). Once the parking lot is selected, there will be a sliding bar ranging from green to red that shows how many spots are available in that lot (green is a lot and red is not a lot).
The user of the app can also check the availability of any of the parking spaces on campus and then find the best lot that has an open parking spot. Also when they are driving by other lots, if they notice something different or see an empty spot, they can update the report after finding a spot and turning their car off. The user also has the ability to allow the application access to his/her current location, in order to get immediate updates as soon as he/she arrives on campus. These notifications can be through text banners, but also through audio notifications as well. With this feature the user can get audio updates without having to look down at their phone while they are driving.

The future of crowdsourcing is in mobile apps. It is because they are much more convenient than desktop websites and can be very easy to use. Spotlight will be both of those. The home menu and navigation throughout the app will be very straightforward and user friendly to assure that everyone can use it without any issues. This app is using crowdsourcing because it depends on the accurate and often updates from the crowd to work efficiently. If there is minimal reporting, the checking will become inaccurate and therefore users will stop using the
Uluru is the biggest rock in the world. It is 9.4km if you walk around it and about 345 metres high if you climb it. It's 3.6km long, 2km wide, and is a roughly oval shape. It's made of arkosic sandstone and is renowned for the way it changes colour in the light and is particularly spectacular at sunrise and sunset.
Students will park in the front parking lot only to allow for visitor parking. We encourage students to carpool or ride the bus because parking is extremely limited. We will have staff members directly student parking efforts, both in the morning and at lunch.
I’ve worked here for 5 years and for my first nomination for the Spirt of Liberty Award, I would like to nominate Leonard Jordan. He is someone that I feel embodies what this award means, which is someone who shows and includes all of the following characteristics but not limited to dedication to caring, being supportive of others, demonstration compassion, and focused on achievement.
I wish to be a member of the National Junior Honor (community of people/all good people in the world) because to be a member of this famous/respected organization means so much to mejust to be invited to be one of its members. I would love to be a member of this (community of people/all good people in the world) because all of my life I have lived by a standard of nothingless than the best and I think by being in this organization it will continue my trip of excellence. All of the activities I have ever participated in I have not done for recognition or praise, the gradesI have received I have not done for recognition. I have just done it because I believe that successcomes before work only in the dictionary. The places I am trying to go and
Now that recreational cannabis use is legal in Oregon many people are looking for a safe place to consume their weed. Often apartments have no-smoking clauses and it is not permissible to smoke pot in public. everybody knows you cannot smoke in your car or at work. So where can the law abiding cannabis consumer enjoy a joint without risking getting sent to the joint? For the people of the legal green state, they have a favorite place to go, The Other Spot (TOS), a private cannabis club located in southeast Portland.
Members of the United States military are subject to a special set of laws known as the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). There are many offenses contained in the UCMJ that criminalize conduct, that, while perhaps frowned upon by some, is completely legal for civilians. It is generally argued that these laws are necessary to preserve order and discipline among military members.
Imagine waking up thirty minutes late the morning of your final exam, the sense of panic you feel as you are rushing to get dressed and then begin speeding through traffic to make it to the campus on time. Upon finally arriving, with less than fifteen minutes left to spare, there is absolutely nowhere for you to park your car in the parking garage. Stressful situations such as these happen on a daily basis for college students attending the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), the issue of parking deficiencies at UNLV is becoming a more well-known and very prevalent among the college’s community. The absence of parking spots at UNLV is detrimental to students’ education because it causes problems such as tardiness, frustration added stress, and financial issues; all things that will eventually handicap the educational enrichment of the students that are enrolled.
As of 2013 there are about 2,500 parking spots currently available at the UCMerced parking lot; with the continued growth of students in the school, we need to be able to make sure supply meets demand with the parking spaces. UCMerced's student population is rapidly growing from 13.5 % from Fall of 2015 to 2016 (UCMerced). Due to the high demand the school needs to be able meet the necessary requirements for all these students; one of the biggest problems the school faces is that they aren’t able to meet the student’s transportation needs (The Merced Sun-Star). The lack of spaces causes students and staff to waste time looking for parking causing them to waste time. I plan on making a design on a mobile app to be able to solve this problem.
“Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the requisite for many diseases.” –Hippocrates, 460-377 BC. If a Greek physician could make this statement over 2300 years ago, why is it such an under-exposed theory today? As stated in Chiropractic First, written by Dr. Rondberg, a chiropractor of 35 years and founder of the “Chiropractic Journal,” Hippocrates “believed that only nature could heal and it was the physician’s duty to remove any obstruction that would prevent the body from healing” (8-9). These “physicians” are called chiropractors today, and their goal is to remove subluxations, the displacement of two or more spinal disks that causes
Though students are not the only ones suffering from the parking issue. According to the FIUSM Editorial, “FIU’s status as a commuter school should mean the University has enough parking spaces available to fulfill the need of its community. But, it doesn’t. The University’s parking problem is not just a student problem, it’s affects the community as a whole (FIUSM Editorial).” To get this point across I plan to use a solution argument to be able to properly state the solutions to the parking problem Florida International University has provided, and show the flaws that the services have within them and ways that we could better than to actually make an impact on the commuting students parking experience. I decided on this purpose because many people already know Florida International University has a parking issue, as well as many universities around the country, but to be able to offer them alternatives to be able to help the problem seems to be the best way to go rather than just informing them of what they already know
We decided to build a multi-story parking lot around the SAIT campus as there is less parking space for the students and it takes very long in the morning to find a parking space. So, the purpose of this project is to provide an idea to SAIT for building another parking lot for convenience of students. In order to do that we are going to perform Phase 1 and Phase 2.
If I had to address the weirdest family member , I would automatically point all fingers toward my uncle Undray . Now my uncle is only three years older than me , so he is a bit younger than my other six uncles . Since Undray is younger , he hung out with the younger group of cousins. So when it came to Undray hanging out with us , which was every other blue moon; it would always be something dangerously fun and like any other kid with no common sense we would all be participating in these little stupid games or pranks.
The situation above is something many college students, especially those here at the University of California Riverside (UCR), are well aware of. Although there are tons of parking lots here at UCR, students still struggle to find a place to park. One of the main reasons is because of the increase in students attending across campuses all over the US. According to the National Center for Educational Statistic, “Between 2001 and 2011, enrollment increased 32 percent, from 15.9 million to 21.0 million.” As a result, the amount of parking spaces here at UCR could not compensate for the growing number of students. A lack of parking spaces can cause many detriments toward the students as it can hinder with their class schedules, cause them to either be late or miss a class, and overall affect their grades. If UCR implement a shuttle bus system for the empty parking lots that are far away from the school, students would be less stress about the parking
On May 2, 2012, the National Football League lost one of its elite players to suicide: Junior Seau. Seau played for the Chargers, Dolphins, and the Patriots during his professional football career and was a 12-time Pro Bowler before retiring in 2009. Three years after his retirement however, Seau committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest with a gun. This greatly shocked the football world and its image of Junior Seau as a person, but it soon realized the cause for his action. Shortly after Seau’s death, researchers examined Seau’s brain and found that it contained a disease known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy which is formed
In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four-year degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four-year degree. In most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling required for a teaching career.
