Splendour in the Grass Introduction Splendour in the Grass is an annual Australian music festival. In 2001, Splendour in the Grass started as a one day event held at Belongil Fields in Byron Bay, NSW and soon evolved into a three day event. It is now considered to be one the nation’s largest winter festivals and attracts a large number of visitors that travel from all over the country. Splendour in the Grass relocated to Woodford, QLD after the NSW court denied organisers permission to use a larger site at Byron Bay, NSW. ‘The Moreton Bay Regional Council and State Government have negotiated a two-year deal with Splendour, which will be expanded to three days.’ (Kellett, C 2009). Along with the move to the new grounds, organisers …show more content…
The reason I have chosen this mix of words is because people listen to the music, enjoy the time they experience at the festival, laugh at the good times they have and hopefully love it so they will return! This statement positions the event as having a fun loving, carefree atmosphere that people will enjoy. Section Two Product Strategy Splendour in the Grass is a consumer related product. Its main aim is to provide world class acts from around the globe and present an experience like no other to every person that attends. To see more clearly as to what the consumer is getting, we can break it down into three groups. Core Product – The core product is fulfilling the customer’s wants and needs. This involves the enjoyment of experiencing three days of music, arts and culture from around the globe. There are new artists every year at the festival, so there is some excitement from the consumer, in seeing an act that they have never seen perform before. Actual Product – The actual product is the tangible product that the customer purchases. This includes the ticket that they buy to enter the festival, the merchandise that they buy and the food and beverages that they consume during the event. Also this can include the travelling expenses that they incur getting to the festival and the accommodation that they stay in. Augmented Product – The augmented product can
It’s the grassy greens, near the winding pebbly road I remember first. The long stalks of spinifex still line the edges, though now neatly trimmed all around. The uneven crunch-crunch-crunch of the gravel as I drive my sunny Porsche across town. Even in winter, bindies pepper the half soccer field, other foliage: a bush dotted with withered yellow berries and emerging saplings surround the patchy lawn like spectators. Smack bang in the middle, winter clawing its way in, stands a grandiose resilient oak, basking under the mild heat of the country sun, glorified as it houses two tombs. Its boughs stretch towards me invitingly and I smile…

Roxby Downs is a desert and it is scorching hot, where’s the grass and why is it so dry.
As Corbett mentions in his reading, “A Faint Green Sell: Advertising and the Natural World” there are many tactics advertisers use to pitch their products. Nature is one of the facets that aids in selling their products, creating a scenery that seems inviting eludes consumers into thinking that image and feeling will transpire once one buys the product. When in reality that isn’t the case, a backdrop of a waterfall and kayaking is a totally different scenario that is being pitched rather than what would really occur.
The festival which already receives funding from major companies, can seek out new music focused company sponsorship's that will provide aid for the costs of the concerts. The last opportunity for the festival includes the role it can provide in educating the local youth about local cultural music, theater, and arts. Many may grow up to have a strong appreciation towards their own communities’ festival.
A soft, warm breeze brought the smell of rain and wet dirt through my open window. The wind carried summer and spring and winter and fall with it, filling my lungs with the purest air I'd ever breathed. The wind carried no pollution, no smoke, only pure, clean air, untainted by human influence. The breeze seemed to come up from the depths of the earth. Everything was silent, and beautiful. I imagined rolling fields of grass that went on for miles, and when I opened my eyes, I looked down at the black, oily concrete and saw grass, pushing its way through faster than I ever thought possible. The concrete shattered and crumbled to dust as the grass overcame the cement streets and sidewalks. In a matter of minutes, all of the streets were gone, replaced by vibrant green grass that looked soft to the
Instead of your heavy winter coat, you decide on a raincoat and boots for the upcoming rain. With the wet dirt and uncovered tree’s, earthly smells enclose your senses. Seeing the newly grown grass. Hearing the birds chirp after returning back to their homes. Critters have just begun to come out of hibernation and everything starts to become the active beaten path you used to know. As the clouds start to disappear and the sun comes out of hiding, trees and plants start to bloom with new life with the vibrant colors of summer. Leaving behind the pastel colors of spring, summer brings noisy vibrant colors to life. The animals wake and scamper across the cement pathway while the flowers open to the morning rays. Different smells meet you halfway to fill your nose with aromas that have not been discovered since last
Once we reached the bottom, we collapsed in the sun-drenched meadow covered in thigh-high, grass that rippled in rainbow colors. Delicate, white, red, pink, and purple wildflowers were intertwined between the blades. In the distance,
