Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and Boys and Girls. I'm present here this fine afternoon to discuss and share my opinion about the USA’s meat obsession.
I think the obsession needs to be put to a hold.
In 2016 the United States Department of Agriculture estimated that Americans ate an average of 54.3 pounds of beef, 92.1 pounds of chicken, and 50.4 pounds of pork, per person, per year. Only about 3.3% of the US adult population and 4% of the US youth population, do not eat meat. It's time for a change. Eating meat harms health, wastes resources, causes deforestation, and creates pollution. It is cruel to kill animals when they are many other options growing here on Earth.
