My Beloved World is a memoir of the first Puerto Rican woman on the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor. Sotomayor writes about her experiences from the age of 8 till current day. After Sonia was diagnosed with her diabetes, she realized that would not be possible. Coming across an episode of Perry Mason, was Sonia’s first encounter with the justice system. She enjoyed watching him and looked up to him. Sotomayor said she "made the quantum leap: If that was the prosecutor's job, then the guy who made the decision to dismiss the case was the judge.
