Songwriting Greenhouse Analysis

Question 1: Describe how you might contribute to a lesson given to a group of seven year old children learning to play percussion instruments.

I plan to have the first main point of my paper be an introduction to Appalachian music which will flow into my next topic, the lifestyle of Appalachian music. Next I plan to discuss the heritage of the music such as how it is handed down, and lastly how the ways it lives on have slightly changed in these technologically modern times.

I now realise that the Arts, including music, creates opportunities to engage, inspire and enrich our lives. Music making and responding can challenge, provoke responses and enrich our knowledge and understanding of ourselves, our communities and the world.

Hart said, “God is sound.” (Potter, 58) This quote resonated with me because no three words have ever spoken more truth. Coming from a musical, Catholic background, I have always been told that singing is praying twice. Music truly is a gift from God because God gave us the ability to hear.

In the age of the Internet and social media, current events and pop-culture phenomena’s are literally at our fingertips and because of that the question arises, “Should we include references to pop-culture and current events in the classroom?” More specifically, “should these topics be included in the music classroom?” This has caused some debate between music educators many questioning if there is even a need to include current events in the classroom discussion. In this paper, the author will attempt to shed light on those two viewpoints, as well as discuss the benefits of both the inclusion and exclusion of pop-culture in the music classroom.

Did you know that music is a major key in how people work, and also health, but brass instruments have changed the way we listen and play music. Although, brass has given a big impact in two genres, such as Jazz and Symphonic. In addition to the fact that music has always been important to society, instruments have evolved from wood to the metals we use today, and brass instruments made an impact on how most music is played, such as through the most famous genre, blues, pop and symphonic. This research will show how the brass instruments are made, how they have changed society, and how brass instruments are important in the 21st century.

The guitar, the guitar is an old but useful instrument. The guitar is 3,500 years old, the guitar is the most useful instrument there is.The guitar has only six string, the strings aren’t as thick as the bass is. The guitar strings are from thickest to thinnest. The thinnest strings are at the bottom of the guitar. The second instrument is the bass, the bass has the same frame as a guitar. How the bass is different from the guitar is that the bass on has four strings but the strings are a lot thicker than the guitar strings. The bass is similar to the guitar because the strings also are from thickest to thinnest. The third instrument is going to be the drums. The drums help keep a beat to a song. There are many different kinds of drums. They have a electric drums. Did you know the drummer from Def Leppard uses a custom electric drum kit because of the car accident he was in. His band members think he plays and sounds better than he did when he had two ams. The fourth instrument is going to be to keyboard. Like the drums there are many other kinds of keyboards too. The keyboard plays an important role in the music industry. The keyboard can tell what mood the song will be in like they keyboard can tell if the song will be happy like Van Halens Summer Nights is a happy song that is talking about summer is fun and how you have plans a lot haha and Beethoven's Pathétique. It’s a sad song

The instruction to make music in worship moves beyond the Levites alone (Foley, 1992) and stretches into the whole body of Israel. Informative Topic Paper For topic one I have chosen How to play the ukulele with less than four hours of practice. I have been playing music since I was an early teen and have had many private lessons. I became interested in this topic, after watching a TED video with Josh Kaufman on how you can become very good at something with 20 hours of work. I however think you can become relatively proficient at many things with less than 4 hours of work.

Thesis: Drums give the world of music rhythm. Without drums and drum beats, I believe that music today would not be as good as it is currently.

A Mathematician’ Lament by Paul Lockhart, demonstrates a musician has woken up from a nightmare and his dream was about how the community is being forced to have music education. It brings many theories and analysis in the “language of music”, which makes the educators to be more curios to listen or play music. Native American Musical Instruments are about natives getting together and playing there instruments. They play them on holidays and birthdays, also they play whenever they want entertainment. It’s a tradition for them. Their instruments are not metal like ours, so it doesn 't sound like ours either. Their instruments have a whole different tune and sound. Native Americans love to play their instruments. Its one of their favorite things to do. I am writing about Native American musical instruments because music is a big part of there 's and our lives. My interest in rock music began when a friend of mine first introduced me to a song by rock band Muse. At first I thought that it was just like any other songs as it was comprised of the same riff extended to about 4 minutes with a 2 minute guitar solo/bridge. However, as I continued to listen to the song over and over again, I grew to appreciate the heavy drumming, the distorted guitar riff and when I watched a few of their live performances of the song, I was astonished by the band synergy that they had. Music is the only medium that blesses both man and God at the same time and as such to see it as an entertainment factor within our worship services is a gross misunderstanding of its purpose. Music is made up of three elements: melody, harmony, and rhythm. Mankind is also made up of three parts: spirit, soul and body (1 Thess 5:23). It can be argued that music and the triune, or trichotomy, of mankind are intrinsically linked i.e. melody is likened to the spirit, harmony to the soul and rhythm to the body.
