World hunger, one of the world's most treacherous problems in the modern era. Simply not enough resources to feed yourself and your family, to the point where you are on the brink of death. While others strive for just one bite, many do not like what’s on their plate and shove it away without thinking about those who are sadly unfortunate. If you specifically had the option had the option to reduce this issue, would you? I know lots who would reduce the issue themselves out of happiness. The reality of hunger is one that is often suppressed and denied around the world. One huge misconception is that everyone who is hungry does not have a job. People argue that hunger is the fault of the person who cannot afford food. If they were really hungry, then they would have done something about it right? Hunger is a problem and crisis found worldwide. Hunger does not just affect one specific race or group of people but a variety of people throughout the world. People don’t expect to go hungry and one can never predict if this will be a problem for them. Going hungry can happen to anyone and at the time least expected. Have you ever wondered what it is like to not know when your next meal will be? What about not knowing how to provide enough food to feed your family? Not everyone thinks of these questions, as some are oblivious to these ongoing problems related to hunger.

In an attempt to end the fight against hunger one must experience it in some way, shape or form. This important in finding the right course of action or the right solution. These past few weeks have opened my eyes to many different experiences and I am inspired to be more active in the fight against hunger, locally, domestically and worldwide.

I feel it can be stopped by donations farming and many more food related things.

You can make a lasting difference in the lives of those in need by raising awareness of hunger, supporting legislative change, and promoting available resources and solutions.

As time passes, more people are dying. World hunger has continued to be a problem for many years, and we must change this. “Be the change you want to see in the world,” (Gandhi). These words inspired me to make a change in the world for those who are too weak or unable to do so. People believe that there is too much world hunger, that it will never be solved. It only takes a few steps to change someone's life. You may or may not know the person you are helping, but in their eyes, you helped them with nothing in return except a good feeling. By donating to organizations like Feed My Starving Children, World Food Programme, Unicef, or No Kid Hungry, who donate food and money to hunger prone countries, you will save lives. Also organizations like Heifer International can donate animal to people who can than sell or use the animals products. If a cow is fed, someone can have milk, cheese, and once the healthy cow has passed, beef. Hunger is a huge global problem, not only in the United States, but in other countries. Hunger has not only impacted the United States currently, but has affected our nation as a whole for a long time. Hunger has also affected our nation in other ways, such as, psychological problems, lead to homelessness, and can be associated with early death.

World hunger is on the rise since the turn of the century. Many people overlook world hunger because there are many organizations supporting the cause. Awareness has been brought towards the cause but surprisingly the number still keeps going up. “In 2016, the number of chronically undernourished people reached 815 million, up 38 million from the previous year” (McVeigh, K). Having 11% of the world’s population be undernourished is a serious problem that many people are not aware of. Even though there is a campaign to end world hunger by 2030 it will be impossible to achieve if people don’t start to help. UNICEF has recognized this and has launched it’s own world hunger campaign that has inspired many to make a difference.

Hunger is a very real problem in poverty stricken nations around the world, but we don't always combat this problem in the way we should. In most cases we donate food to be distributed for free or at a reduced cost in poverty stricken areas, and while this does provide food, it can also hurt the local economy. Most jobs in impoverished nations are in agriculture, so sending cheap food makes it harder for the farmers to sell their product. In order to combat hunger in these areas without hurting the local economy, the answer is not to send in more competitively priced food, the answer is to use the food that is already there. In the past ten years the world population exceeded six billion people with most of the growth occurring in the poorest, least developed countries in the world. The rapidly increasing population and the quickly declining amount of land are relative and the rate at which hunger is increasing rises with each passing year. We cannot afford to continue to expand our world population at such an alarming rate, for already we are suffering the consequences. Hunger has been a problem for our world for thousands of years. But now that we have the technology and knowledge to stamp it out, time is running short.
