It’s time to rejoice after the war. Everyone needs to get ready to welcome our soldiers home. We know that it is time to rejoice and welcome when in the commercial it says, “You’ve been missed. You’ve been needed. You’ve been cried for. Prayed for. You’ve been the reason we push on.”. If we are finally welcoming our soldiers home, then that must mean we are finally able to rejoice that the war is over. Another saying that answers the question, “Why?”, is “We wait. We hope. We pray. Until you’re home again.”. After all that time of us waiting, hoping, and pray we can finally welcome our soldiers home and rejoice of the war being over. After putting all our faith that everything will be okay and hopefully all of our loved ones will be coming

We still feel the ripples of the war today, with men and women broken from the war in Vietnam. Our veterans, still haunted by horrid flashbacks and memories no one should have to carry. Lives were stolen in this war, leaving only behind an empty shell of a person that would come home in a body bag if you were lucky. Families lost their sons, fathers, and brothers. Our nation was wounded, and that wound still hasn’t fully healed. As time heals all wounds, we know that eventually we’ll be able to put Vietnam’s horrors behind us, and hopefully we’ll be able to look forward to a brighter future, upholding freedom and liberty for the pursuit of
There is much great glory and pride after the war ends and we go home. The leaders are also helping us through the hard times in the war. Re-enlisting in the army is a great thing to do because of all the soldiers they have lost. They need more men to help them win. Once I re-enlist you will be serving your country and helping your friends and family become free.
“America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand.”- President Harry S. Truman. An American is someone who shows bravery, courage, and takes all opportunities that come their way. America accepts immigrants from all of the world, but a true American is someone who shows bravery, courage, can use any obstacle as motivation, and uses every opportunity to rise as high as they are willing to work.
An American can be defined by a variety of things. A natural born citizen is just as American as an immigrant searching for a new life, just like in “America and I” by Aniza Yezierska. An American can be a rich businessman or it could be a dedicated soldier like in “Veteran’s Day: Never Forget Their Duty” by John McCain. An individual’s definition of being an American is shaped by their life experiences. A person’s view on being an American is different because of experiences, such as being a veteran, being an immigrant, or living in poverty, all of which affect one’s perspective.
Moving forward, we should continue to support military families in any way that we can and express our gratitude towards all who serve the country, because there giving up more than we
We have all seen or read about the political and social upheavals caused by war. Some may have even experienced it first-hand. Throughout history war has had negative psychological implications on those effected. However, there is no greater negative impact of war than the psychological and emotional turmoil that it causes individual soldiers.
What a veteran means to me is someone who served in the war.Veteran Day means freedom, sacrifice, and honor for those who served in the military. It also means to give thanks to people who served. We should be brave and strong-hearted when meet Verternern . . . . Without Veteran Day, many Americans would forget them and the sacrifices they made . A veteran, American Veterans are role models to me. They make me proud of my country. They fill me with reverence. They are a source of inspiration to me. An American veteran sets an honorable example for me to follow.
For my book report, I read the book War Heroes Voices from Iraq by Allan Zullo. The author interviewed ten soldiers about the time they spent in Iraq. The book tells ten different real life stories of soldiers and what amazing things they did in Iraq. The one thing all of these soldiers have in common is that they thought they were just doing their jobs. These soldiers are true heroes because each of them risked their own lives to save others and to protect our country. Even though a lot of soldiers would do that, not all survive to tell about it.
Honor is the pride and respect of veterans who served their country and kept it safe. How one person thanks the veterans is different from another. However, honor and morals sometimes get confused during the time of war. The Navy sometimes names their ships after war heroes for their actions and bravery. However, shouldn’t the military do that for all veterans alive or dead? Some veterans don’t even get the honor and respect they earned for serving their country.
The Union has now won the war. Therefore, get ready to welcome back the soldiers who fought to keep our nation together. (See details on page 2)
Every year since 1919 on November 11th, America celebrates Veterans Day. However, do our people truly understand the meaning behind putting on that army camouflage uniform. Now, the term hero is used very loosely and it is losing its meaning throughout the nation. In any case, it is important to realize the actual reasoning behind why our veterans are America’s heroes.
Developing a desire to give back to our nation’s heroes led me to become involved with a Disabled American Veterans program that aids local veterans by offering them an opportunity to seek assistance for everyday tasks. Creating connections with a few of the veterans prompted an invitation to participate in their monthly chapter meetings where I discovered that our conversations left a lasting impact on me; hearing their life stories of successes and struggles is eye opening. Although a majority of group members has a disability from their service to our country, they remain the most humble individuals one will ever meet. Additionally, my time with these heroes wills me to become more intrinsically motivated in finding ways to continue to
A widower who has suffered the loss of his beautiful, beloved, and entirely idealized wife, Ligeia, narrates Edgar Allen Poe’s short story of the same name. Soon after Ligeia’s death, the narrator enters into an unfulfilling marriage with the Lady Rowena. The narrative concludes with Rowena 's death and what vaguely appears to be the resurrection of Ligeia. Poe’s short story may typically be read as a “ghost story”, in which the dead Ligeia’s will to live overcomes death with its sheer power; however, the narrator, throughout the story, demonstrates that he is almost entirely unable to tell reality from fantasy, and functions primarily in the “schizoid-position” (Schueller 601)—as evidenced by his use of many a psychological defense mechanism—hallucinates that Ligeia kills Rowena then returns from the dead. In this interpretation, the narrator’s own will for Ligeia’s life is expressed through his fantasy, which is enhanced by his heavy use of opium. Using this interpretation, it can not be the will of Ligeia that brings her back to life, but rather the narrator’s own extreme mental illness. Although the story "Ligeia" appears at first glance to be about the power of the eponymous character’s will to live, the story’s primary focus actually lies in the narrator, and through his psychological breakdown the true heart of the story is born.
