Social Norms In Jane Austen's Pride And Prejudice

Imagine being in love with someone, then having your parents and family make you marry someone else for money and status. This was typical in the 1800’s that your father would chose who you would marry. In Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen challenged the social norms about marriage of convenience that had more to do with socio economic status, instead of for love. I think that Pride and Prejudice is a classical fiction book. My two reasons for are it’s a classic love story that doesn't accurately depict the life a poor family in the 1800’s and the author Jane Austen was a rebel and feminist icon. She wrote about things that weren't necessarily socially acceptable.
Pride and Prejudice is a classic love story, that people tend to romanticize.
