Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explain how several social media tools are used and how to use certain tools in specific situations. This paper will also analyze ethical issues involved in social media and how to address them. Social media ethical issues include security, credibility, privacy, and reputation. This paper talks about security concerns such as identity theft are a major concern. This paper also talks about security issues in E-commerce. This paper talks about different business plans including financial plans, marketing plans, competitor analysis and executive summaries. Those are the sites the organization should target when selecting the best tool to use. Companies who want their message heard should be involved on the sites your potential customers already use. Last, establish how much time and resources the business can devote to this effort. Some sites do not require much to maintain them after initial setup. Other social media may require regular, even daily, upkeep. Knowing how much time will be spent, and by whom, will allow an organization to control social media instead of letting social media control the organization.
Ethical Issues in Social Media Every organization looks for communication methods to attract customers. Using social media as an e-commerce tool is an option to be explored. However, social media does not come without its share of ethical issues. “Business ethics defines how a company integrates the core values of honesty, trust, respect, and fairness into its policies and practices---and complies with legal standards and regulations” (Turban et al. 2008, p. 782).
