Smiling Soldier Project
“Peace is not something you wish for, it’s something you make. Something you do. Something you are. And something you give away.” stated Robert Fulghum. We, as Elk County Catholic students, can construct peace of mind for all troopers who fight for our freedom. Smiling Soldier Project is looking to support the men and women over seas that are fighting for our freedom by providing encouragement, gifts, volunteers from our community, as well as school and county support to provide helping hands.
I think the development of the Smiling Soldier Project will encourage United States soldiers to continue on their endeavor until their duty is fulfilled. Together, we could send cards uplifting drawings and words of wisdom. With

We would first start a program to give all participants an idea of what they could do to help. After creating the program, we would set an appointment with our school staff to show them the importance of this program. If our school staff approves of this brilliant idea, we would put our idea to the wind by placing colorful flyers around the school, using the Elk County Catholic school website to promote the project, and sending well written to every student. By participating in the Smiling Soldier Project, you, as Elk County Catholic student, are showing your patriotism towards your country.
It is time to get the word out about the Smiling Soldier Project. We will depend on county’s involvement for the promotion of this project. We will request free advertising for our local radio stations and encourage the use of social networking sites to send the word out. Pounding the pavement looking for donations from local businesses will be crucial. We will depend on the church to assist in announcing our needs for donations, volunteers, and provided space for packaging. It is time to fetch your family, friends, classmates, teammates, neighbors, and church community to become
What does it feel like to come home from years of fighting and have nothing but living on the streets. A lot of the wounded vets have to deal with that when they come home from war. The Wounded warrior project is to help wounded veterans coming home from war. They raise money for the procedures and surgeries the wounded vets overtake when they come home. With all of the staff and the volunteers they are able to help out hundreds of vets a day.

Although at first glance General George S. Patton is anything but creative, if you think about it, he is one of the most creative people of all time. Both his battle strategies and speeches were creative, bold, and extremely powerful. Each of his speeches, particularly his speech to the Third Army, are some of the most powerful and motivated I have read. Each and every speech he spoke riled his troops and made them want to crush the Nazis and win the war. Many people dislike Patton and his speeches because of his vulgar language, but there is no denying the effect the speeches had on the troops who served under him and the power in each word he spoke. http://www.wjpbr.com/patton.html
However we also are shown bravery, companionship and acts of kindness as the soldiers struggle to stay humane and sane in a hellish environment.
Atticus Finch was a lawyer and a father in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, during the height of the great depression. He is a beloved character in the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. He accepts a case in which he serves as the criminal defense lawyer of a black man who is on trial for rape, in a time where racial discrimination was still very much alive.
Since 2012, WWP Program Grants have held two annual grant cycles to support the increasing number of returning wounded veterans and their reintegration needs. Brett Miller is a U.S. Army veteran and founder of Warfighter Outfitters, Inc. His 2005 deployment to Iraq left him with a traumatic brain injury (TBI), saw a unique opportunity to help fellow injured service members through the camaraderie and bonding offered by two of his own interests: hunting and fishing (Newswire). Then there 's Staff Sergeant Erick Millette. During two tours in Iraq, Erick survived 17 IED attacks. They left him with the kinds of injuries that you can 't always see: head trauma, brain injury, PTSD. Millette’s military career was cut short, but he 's taken on a new mission, and that 's sharing his story with audiences across the country. He spread the message that it 's okay to talk about these unseen wounds of war, to seek out help and to seek out support. Millette says that the Wounded Warrior Project literally saved his life, and now through his work, he 's helping save even more lives (Secretary).
War has always existed. Although the purpose of war varies, the outcome is the same; many lives are changed and ruined. War is often used to gain power, resources, and land, but it disregards the lives of those fighting the fight. Martin Luther King stated, “The past is prophetic in that it asserts loudly that wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows.” In three selections, “Medevac Missions,” “A Journey Taken with my Son,” and “At Lowe’s Home Improvement Center,” readers come to understand the truths of wars’ impact on the lives of those surrounding the soldier. Their friends change, their physical and psychological states change, but the hardest truth is adjusting to life back at home. Soldiers experience many life changes during active
The Military and Veteran Support programs help veterans and active duty service men and women and their families in many different areas. On November 11, 2011, Target brought together more than 1500 team members and volunteers for a day of service and remembrance. Each team worked toward the same goal – to build an America where every returning veteran can serve again as a citizen leader, and where together we honor the fallen by living their values through service (Target). Target sponsors the Military Child Education Coalition Annual Conference, where educators, senior military leaders, corporate leaders and military family members share knowledge and inspiration to support military-connected children. Target also proudly partners with Our Military Kids, providing grants to children of deployed and
Every winter, I have fond memories of sitting around the Christmas tree, eagerly opening presents with my family, and walking downtown with my friends, with the brilliant lights in the trees and our footprints quickly being covered up again by the snow. Family and friends are the most precious things, especially around the holidays. But each year, I know, in the back of my mind, that there are countless families out there that are missing someone, a loved one, and a veteran. Maybe to suicide, to injury, or to one of the multitude of other health issues, both mental and physical, that many veterans carry with them wherever they go. I have always believed that supporting our veterans is a crucial part of our culture in the United States, and
Our military men and women are exposed to traumatic events that most will never experience, however, the treatments they receive are no different than most civilians. I would like to create a program that collects donations to benefit those with PTSD. These charitable giving’s would go directly to a local hospital, such as the Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) for research.
INTRODUCTION: How many people have a Veteran in their family or know one? If yes do you help them or is it someone else’s problem. Well many people think it’s someone else problem, but the truth is it’s our problem.
Veterans. Those people are the reason why we are living and free. Don’t you ever think about the wounded veterans that put their whole life on the line for you to be safe? For their sacrifices they deserve the best and we can help by donating to wounded warrior project. The wounded troops should have the help to overcome their physical and mental obstacles. I Joey Drana believe that wounded warrior project is one of the best charities to donate to.
In this essay I will describe the many requirements and expectations set forth in the army's AR670-1. I will describe the importance of obedience to it and cite many of it's detailed descriptions. I am writing this essay because I failed to meet the standards asked of me me by both these regulations
Your key challenge in a leadership position is taking care of the Soldiers entrusted to your care. Soldiers are our nation’s most important military asset. The Leader who sends the message that Soldiers don’t really matter will generally not be as successful in the long-run as the Leader who is genuinely serious about taking care of his/her Soldiers.
