On September 1, 2017 at 6:31 PM Tenleigh J Smith died due to a malfunction on The Skycoaster at Lagoon located in Ogden, Utah. The Skycoaster is similar to bungee jumping expect instead of going vertically the Skycoaster swings the passengers horizontally. In order for the ride to work the Skycoaster employees strap the passengers to two cables. One of the cables is hooked to the top of the arch 175 feet in the air, the second cable is hooked to the side of the arc so that it keeps the riders tight and restricts them from swinging crazily in the air while they are being pulled up. The second cable is meant to be released in order for the ride to work. The first cable then pulls the riders up towards the arc. Once the passengers reach the top
Owned at one point by George and Lillie Cook, my maternal great-great-great aunt and uncle, part of Lot 44 of the First Borden Edition, now better known as Cricket’s, passed through their hands to go on to influence the history of the Town of Birdseye. However, in more recent years the family connection was reestablished by Bill Golden, a recently deceased family member. Spending most of his adult life discovering the history of Birdseye, he devoted much of his time centered around unearthing the story of this beautiful building because of to its connection

After Aataentsic threw herself into the hole , turtle called together all the water animals to form an island on top of his back to save Aataentsic life as she gently settled on the new earth.

Water is political. It nourishes us, connects us, and separates us. Water is especially political in Canada: almost nine percent of Canada is covered by fresh water, annually Canada’s rivers discharge seven percent of the world’s renewable water supply, and Canada holds 25 percent of the world’s wetlands.[1] But we forget the power of water sometimes when stories about water become stirred into other stories, especially about Indigenous women’s bodies. The mingling of stories about water and about Indigenous women seems obvious. Indigenous women in Canada have long had special connections to water. In the Haudenosaunee tradition, Sky Woman built the world as we know it out of a primordial sea on the back of a turtle. Four women (three of them
