Similarities Between The Fall Of Rome And The United States

Rome, one of the most enormous and powerful empires to ever exist also eventually crumbled. There are many beliefs to why this happened, such as the increasingly weak boundaries, lack of assurance on the emperor's, an increasingly horrible economics system, and a backlash on the new origin of Christianity to name a few. What was known as one of the biggest empires known to date also eventually came to it’s unfortunate end.

To begin with one of the major reasons that led to Rome’s downfall was a huge decrease in population. According to “Doc 1” the population reached a low point of six thousand people in the Roman Empire. As “Doc 1” states, one reason why the population decreased was because many Romans had no interest in producing and raising children. Another reason from “Doc 1” was that plagues wiped out most of the population. Last but not least the population dropped because of warfare going on and the attempt to defend Rome.

Right now in the 21st century, the United States of America is known to be one of the strongest nation around the globe. However back in 200 BCE, the Roman Empire was the Alpha country throughout the whole Mediterranean world. But when something or someone hits a peak, they are surely to decline in the near future. As for Rome, the problems that later caused destruction began around the 5th century. I will use Documents A,B and C as a resource to show the primary reasons of Rome’s decline. We all know that Ancient Rome had a great civilization that conquered many other great civilizations like Spain, France, Greece, and whale. They have much in common with the United States like being the powerhouse of their time and we’re the powerhouse of modern time.
