There are many explorers that are on and were on this world. Some have great achievements, but some unfortunately also had failures. Some explorers explored the vast terrain of the earth, some explored the marshmallow-clouded skies, and some even explored through the storms of the grand ocean. Two explorers known for their adventures are John Cabot and Charles Lindbergh. These explorers took chances, and exploring opportunities came their way. John Cabot (also known as Giovanni Caboto) was born in 1450 in Genoa, and later moved to Venice in 1461. John Cabot became a Venetian citizen in 1476. In 1496 King Henry VII issued letters to Cabot regarding a voyage to Asia for goods available in the English market. Instead of travelling west, like …show more content…

Christopher Columbus and Charles Lindbergh had a journey, very different but also very similar. They created a near impossible task and went forward until they completed the task. These two men changed history by following their dreams putting their names in the history books. These two men have done great thing although they are similar, yet different. Christopher accomplished his goal 400 years before Charles did.
History is made everyday. Some instances are remembered more than others. We don't realize that what we do today could make a ginormous impact tomorrow. For instance Christopher Columbus didn't know that he would discover the "New World". He died believing that he had found a quicker route to Asia. Charles Lindbergh didn't know that by entering a contest to fly across the Atlantic would bring he so much fame. Both men are remembered today as trendsetters, they will always be remembered for their impressive accomplishments. Columbus was able to cross the Atlantic Ocean and discover land never found before. Equally important is when Lindbergh flew the first solo flight ever across the Atlantic Ocean. There are many similarities between the two
History is created by the feats and accomplishments of mankind as time goes on. Two men, Christopher Columbus and Charles Lindbergh, revolutionized the world and the people of their time.If neither one did what they did, the world now would be such a different place, technologically, socially, and politically that none of us now could accurately predict. Each one accomplished two big steps in the history of mankind, each one faced challenges and obstacles that neither one would’ve thought of, each one changed the face of the earth to as we know it now, and even each one accomplished things that weren’t even apart of their goal for what they attempted to achieve.
With his new found fame, Lindbergh spent much of his time in promoting the aviation field while going around the United States with his iconic plane the Spirit of St. Louis. While visiting various cities in the US, he would participate in countless parades as well as give speeches. His fame grew to such height that he was soon regarded as an international celebrity who was nicknamed “Lucky Lindy” and “The Lone Eagle”. By 1927 he released a book entitled “We”, about his historic flight which quickly became a bestseller. Throughout all his rising fame and influence, Lindbergh had always stuck to helping the aviation industry as well as other causes which he felt important.
Both Columbus and Lindbergh had plans to reach certain destinations, but only Lindbergh followed through with his achievement. Columbus was determined to find the correct route from Europe to Asia, but found something much greater: the Americas. This discovery led to eternal fame from the pride of all Americans. He did not reach the destination he
A Spanish explorer said that exploration was a challenge for the courageous people, and that they wanted to discover new places. This shows that he was really interested in the name he could make for himself and the glory he could give himself on this journey (Doc 1). Many explorers likely made their whole journeys just to become famous.
During this time many people started to go against the beliefs of an ideal American Society, women wore shorter dresses, they drank alcohol, despite it being illegal, and most of all the everyday lifestyle of an average american was changed. This led to new inventions and heroes like Charles Lindbergh to rise. Charles Lindbergh, also known as the dare devil who flew a plane from New York to Paris nonstop in 33.5 hours in May of 1927. The culture of the 1920s, new inventions in the 1920s, and contribution of Charles Lindbergh in the 1920s shaped the Roaring 20s and helped the US advance to what it is right
During the 15th and 16th century, countries such as Portugal set out to find out more about the world in an era called the “Age of Exploration.” The explorers set out on voyages mainly to find sea trade routes to Asia. Vasco da Gama, Christopher Columbus, and Ferdinand Magellan were the explorers that made the most important breakthroughs. They used different boats, tools, and maps to help them explore.
There has been a question to the phenomenon of Marco Polo and his travel to China. It is said to be that Marco Polo himself never actually traveled as far as China. It is a reality that many people in this society know of the name Marco Polo, but they do not actually indulge themselves in the facts following his life and writings. The explorers that come to mind with common society is Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus. The influence that Marco Polo has on many is not a question at hand, even Christopher Columbus carried around his book on his voyage through America.
The Battle of Somme took place during World War I in Picardy, France from 1 July to 18 November 1916. It was planned to be the final major battle of World War I in which a win for either the German Empire or the British and French forces would prove a decisive victory in the overall war and a means to end the war (Battle of the Somme). However, with the Battle of Verdun consequentially taking place, the Battle of Somme turn into one of attrition with no decisive outcome.
Bipolar Disorders are considered complex because of the episodes that are experienced. They include dysfunctional mood, potentially including major depressive episodes, mild to moderate depressive episodes, manic episodes, hypomanic episodes, and mixed episodes, which are often separated by periods of relatively normal mood. (BDII). There are two types of Bipolar Disorders that I will cover in this paper. They include Bipolar I disorder (BP-I) and Bipolar II disorder (BD-II).According to the Epidemiologic Catchment Area Study, as cited by Kleinman, Lowin, Flood, Gandhi, Edgell, and Revicki (2003), the lifetime prevalence by race and ethnicity for BD - I and BD - II, are as follows: Caucasian 0.8% and 0.4%, African American 1.0% and 0.6%, and Hispanic 0.7% and 0.5%.. Lifetime prevalence rate for Bipolar I is 0.6%and bipolar II it is 0.3% over a 12-month period (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). People who have Bipolar I disorder typically experience alternating episodes of depression and mania where there is a separation of some level of ‘normalcy’ in the sequence (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). For example, they might be depressed for 4 days feel normal for a couple of days than go into a manic episode. On the other hand, those with Bipolar II disorder they only experience depressive episodes and will not have an episode of mania.
Columbus made an especially daring trip when he set sail for the Indies. He knew he was headed for some rough water, bad weather, and maybe even an unwelcoming crowd of people.
Why did Columbus travel west? Why did Marco Polo head east? Because it is that pull, that unknown, that prospect of adventure that compels humans to seek new frontiers to explore.
