Both W.E.B Dubois and Alain Locke have different views on the education that African American should receive in order to succeed. The issue rises due to the fact that African American were receiving poor education around the 1930’s. Dubois believed that segregated school was the first step into African Americans receiving adequate education, while Locke believe that segregated school was not to fix the educational crisis for African Americans.
