In the novel “ The strange case of Dr. jekyll and Mr.hyde,” by the author Robert Louis Stevenson the two main characters Dr.Jekyll and Mr.hyde have many differences and similarities. Dr.Jekyll, the protagonist, is a respected scientists who goes through trials and tribulations with good and evil. Mr.Hyde, the antagonist, and is the corrupt side of Dr. Jekyll. There are certain aspects of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde’s personality that compare and they also contrast in certain situations. The way that they compare and contrast in terms of mentally, physically, and morally. There are many examples in this book that could compliment the different and relative characteristics that Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde have. Dr.Jekyll had more of a classy, clean house while Mr. Hyde a house that was more filthy, squalid house. The difference between the two houses shows the vast personalities that they both hold as individuals. That Dr.jekyll has tip-top and sanitary personality, but Mr. Hyde has a negligent and unclean personality. Morally, Dr.Jekyll is more formal than Mr.Hyde. Physically, Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde were total opposites when it came to stature. Dr.Jekyll was a very fragile man. He was not looked upon as an imposing force. In the story the author Stevenson mentioned, “he had borne himself to the lawyer with a sort of murderous mixture of timidity and boldness, and he spoke with a husky, whispering and somewhat broken voice.” This exhibits that Mr.Hyde on the other hand is very striking. He is a short, sturdy, and wide man. Dr.Jekyll did not compare to Mr.Hyde in build. Mentally, the two main characters Dr.jekyll and Mr.Hyde were also extensively different. since Dr.Jekyll was a scientist he thought more with reasoning and rationality and acted with caution.
