The author points out to some reasons, mentioned by many archaeologists, to indicate that the silver coin is not genuine historical evidence. The lecturer, however, refutes the claim by providing some arguments against the aforementioned reasons. First, the place in which the coin was found is far away, more than 1000 kilometers, from where the Norse settlements. Nonetheless, the professor believes that it is not a persuading reasoning, since there are numerous objects have been discovered in distant areas. It can be explained by considering native Americans who could travel and reach that region.
