Women should have the right to make the decisions on what they’re going to with their bodies. Women shouldn’t be restricted by the government. It’s a personal choice. Abortion is such a cruel thing to do but you never know the situation a woman is in or what they are going through. As it can be seen, women has been fighting and struggles throughout years for their equal rights all over the world. As United States of America is known for being the “Land of the Free”, Women should be given the rights to decide what they want to do their body and decide if they want to breed or not. Women shouldn’t be restricted by the government. First of all, women struggled throughout the years fighting for women’s inequality and rights. Not letting a woman get abortions will be a huge setback for all the accomplishments they …show more content…
Many people don’t like authority, therefore which will start up a commotion right there. One thing is authority, other is being controlling. I understand the government system has n, a duty to give authority to all people to reduce chaos but the government system can’t control a woman’s decisions on what they want to do with their bodies. Even though, they think they could but women that are determined to get an abortion, legal or illegal, they would find other alternatives that will to get the job done. Like “Backstreet abortions” which is unsafe abortion. Unsafe abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by people lacking the necessary skills or lacking minimal medical standards, or even both. For example, an unsafe abortion may refer to an extremely dangerous life-threatening procedure that is self-induced in unhygienic conditions. A lack of access to safe and effective contraception contributes to unsafe abortion. It has been estimated that the incidence of unsafe abortion could be reduced by as much as 73% without any change in abortion laws if modern family planning and maternal health services were readily available
Women should not be able to make decisions about how to live their lives. Clearly, by the looks of the statistics, with approximately 42 million abortions a year, women are foolish. Women should not have the option of deciding when or whether to have children. They do this by making choices regarding when to have sexual intercourse and what contraceptive methods to use. The government should have all the power to make these decisions. Abortion reflects a women's value, her family, and her career.
Abortion should be legal, because there are too many things that go wrong. A women could be raped and need to get one because she doesn’t want to look at the child and doesn’t want to feel it grow, freedom of choosing what to do and how government involvement in personal decisions such as this could lead to potentially having the government deem how many children you can have or even how many pregnancies you are allowed, medical reasons for abortion, and the ability of a woman to have control of her body is critical to civil rights.
I feel that woman should be able to decide if an abortion is right for them and no one else. I feel that this procedure should be legal because if it is not these women will still seek out abortions and will have them performed illegally in unsafe and unsanitary places, which will jeopardize the woman’s health. I also feel that abortions should be affordable since if a woman cannot afford to have an abortion in a reputable place she will seek out a place that she can afford to have this abortion, which can place her health at risk since these procedures are often performed by someone who is not properly trained or licensed to do this procedure.
First off, women that want an abortion might just not be in the right position to have one. As President Barack Obama said, “I would rather my daughters have an abortion then be punished for their own sexual acts, and have to screw up their lives with an unwanted child.” Over fifty percent of politicians are pro-choice, they believe that abortion is moral and should be legal. Some people can make decisions in the split second that they do not realize could impact the rest of their lives. Once a person understands what they have done, it should be their choice as to what to do next in the
Abortion is an issue that has caused dispute within the government for many years. Is a woman correct in wanting the choice to decide what shall happen to her body? In an article entitled Eggs and Abortion: “Women Protective” Language Used by Opponents in Legislative Debates over Reproductive Health, written by Sujatha Jesudason and Tracy Weitz, this statement was made, "The liberal feminist approach emphasizes choice and autonomy, premised on a core belief in individual freedom and with the primary goal of minimizing government intervention in women’s reproductive decision-making." This is a declaration I identify strongly with. A woman's body cannot be a matter the government should be entirely involved in. The man or woman that signs anything disallowing the right to choose what happens inside my body or anyone else's would be making a
Before abortion was made legal in 1973, women would seek illegal methods called “back-alley” abortions. These methods were performed at home with coat hangers and knitting needles, by medical professionals, or by the use of herbs. Health Research Funding estimates that five to ten thousand women died each year due to illegal procedures. Illegal procedure would also cause infertility among women due to the injuries sustained. Thankfully, with the passing of Roe V. Wade, abortions today are much safer. The American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists stated “Abortion is one the safest medical procedures performed in the United States.” A woman’s risk of dying from a modern abortion is 0.6 in 100,000 while the risk of dying from giving birth is around 14 times higher at 8.8 in 100,000. A study by Obstetrics & Gynecology in January of 2015 reported that less than 2.5% of the 1.21 million abortions every year lead to major health
Women have the right to choose what to do with their bodies and or self. The most common phrase said is “My Body, My Choice” women have rights just like men do. We are surrounded by rights. We all must make choices in our lives based on what we believe is safe and best for ourselves at that time. Thus, women have that right to decide to have an abortion or not.
With abortion only concerning a woman's body it should be up to that woman if she chooses to get the abortion, not anyone else's. They have the right “to participate equally in the economic and social life of the Nation” but as Supreme Justice court Sandra Day O'Connor wrote that by even taking away the option to have the abortion is affecting “their ability to control their reproductive lives.” which is invitation of them even getting to decide their life course. Also stated in this
Women should be able to make their own decisions about their bodies, especially when it comes to their sexual identity. Women should be able to decide whether or not they want to carry a child, and those who argue that women who deny motherhood are not listening to the women who argue for reproductive rights. Women need the power to control their bodies because that is the epitome of owning the power to be considered an equal in society. Women would not end up in abusive situations concerning their bodies if information and prevention were more readily available. With knowledge comes power, and that is proven in every argument through history. Argument for reproductive rights becomes a national topic every time the presidential race rolls around.
Abortion, for the vast majority of people is not a subject that is easy to talk about. According to the World Health Organization, out of the 211 million pregnancies, 46 million end up in abortion and 18 million of those abortions are done in what WHO considers unsafe conditions (World Health Report, 2007). Unsafe conditions are defined by WHO as, “ abortions performed by people lacking the necessary skills or in an environment lacking the minimal medical standards, or both” (World Health Report, 2007). The maternal death rate for women who have unsafe abortions is 350 out of 100,000, and there are other complications that are not fatal but can lead to disease or disability (World Health Report, 2007).
Overall, I don't believe abortion should be a method that should be restricted and women should not be frowned upon society for her choice over her body, abortion is a choice that a woman would not want to re-live. Harder abortion laws will push women to the edge to make the harsh decision of getting an illegal abortion which may lead to her death. If women can't have the right to have a say over their
Abortion rights are one of the most heatedly debates in society. There are many arguments for and against abortion. Each woman has the right to an abortion and the right to have a child. Women have the resources, rights, and respect to make reproductive health decisions that are best for themselves. (“Women’s”) We live in a free country and women should continue to have the choice to do whatever with their body, concerning women’s rights, health issues, and religious reasons.
Everyone has they ability to decide for him or herself what is right or wrong. Abortion has always been a large debate in the US since Roe v. Wade. I believe that abortion is a personal choice that women make privately. No one should have a right to say what she has to do in that certain situation. Of course abortion pass her first trimester is considered murder and at that point of the pregnancy no women should abort. Abortion is an issue that should be dealt with privately. The government shouldn’t have to get involved in an issue that doesn’t affect the general public, which also applies to the other social issues of gay marriage and drug
Abortion is not only a woman's right, it is a woman's choice. Allowing abortion to e legal is immoral. A pre-born child is given the status of a product of pregnancy and never seen as the miracle only a woman can create. Compassion for the small one is drowned out under a demand for rights, but what about the rights for the unborn.
The right to an abortion is a right that women should have. Many women face difficult situations where they find themselves needing to have an abortion. It is up to a woman to choose what is best, according to her, for her life. Modifications to one’s body is allowed, and abortion is just another modification. Women should build one another and not tear each other down by judging each other’s decisions. Women, who decide either to have an abortion, make a life-changing decision that everyone should
