In conclusion, vending machines should remain in school cafeterias
because evidence suggests that "students will eat and drink whatever they
want even if they cannot find chocolate bars and soda for sale at school"
(Johnson, page 10).

Have you ever wondered what would happen in an emergency and no one was able to use their phone in school? Or what if there was a school shooting at your child’s school and they had no way of contacting you? Many people look at the cons of having cell phones at school, but have you ever looked at the good side. Students need their cell phones at lunch because it solves a lot of problems. Having cell phones at lunch will help us be in contact with our parents, know what is going on throughout the day, and give us something to do after we are done eating.
My article was about the dreaded freshman 15 and how it’s common for freshman students to gain weight during their first year. The article talks about if students actually gain 15 pounds just in their first year alone. Some studies have said that this is false, and the average weight gain is closer to around 7 and ½ pounds. While this isn’t so bad, the article goes on to show where all those calories will be coming from, and give tips as to how to avoid weight gain. The article mentions how to pick healthy food in the dining hall, and how to eat less while there. It advises also getting into habits of going to the gym and staying active alongside eating healthy. Lastly, it talks about snacking in between meals and drinking calories. The author
Through out the scarlet letter there were many ways why a man wouldn’t confess his sins. So by giving the examples and reasons why men won’t confess what they have done wrong would give those who are confused a better understanding on this particular topic. Also questions based on what Dimmesdale is talking about will be answered, for example many question “is a person able to hide his guilt without destroying himself or not? and what is the meaning of Dimmesdale statement when he said “to the untrue man the entire universe is false.”
Do you think that there should be vending machines in middle school. I think there should be because kids would be more energized. Also the school would make more money off of it.
“The joy and satisfaction of a meal is equal to the passion and effort given its preparation.” Said by famous chef -Gordon Ramsay. Gordon Ramsay a known chef around the world loves to cook food for everyone, but some people don’t have the ability during the school day to buy a lunch. So, kids that are in school get hungry throughout the day and they only have one period dedicated to their food. I think that all schools should have vending machines all around the school and not just in the cafeteria, and open during the whole school day. Some kids in most schools have a reduced lunch or might not be able to buy a lunch at all. Students may have up to one dollar and that’s only enough for one item from the vending machines so they have to wait until their lunch period.
Why should students have vending machines? They should have vending machines because some students have afterschool activities. Some students may come late and may have not ate any breakfast. Some students come without enough food for their brain. Vending machine should be in school because some students may have not ate breakfast, have enough brain food, and may have after school activities.
Thousands of pieces of gum are being chewed right now, in different classes, in different schools. All over the globe, people are chewing gum. But now multiple schools have been debating whether gum should be allowed in schools. Gum should be allowed in schools.
Schools in America should have vending machines. Imagine having no vending machine in the hallway at school. Now imagine having a vending machine in the hall, you would like it wouldn’t you. Most schools do not have vending machines but I feel that we should. Students might get hungry in class, but if the school had a vending machine students would not get as hungry in class. America’s schools should have vending machines.
The birds flutter their wings and soar from tree to tree. A shallow pond gives life to the fish, turtles, and frogs within it. The woods beyond my house are my refuge. Everything is still and calm, bringing me a sense of peace and tranquility. In the summer, the woods are lush and plentiful. Vibrant colors catch my eyes in every direction. The scene is so glorious and soothing, that it overwhelms me. To me, even though the sunset is splendorous, watching the sunset makes me depressed because it means that the day is ending. Lily says in the book The Secret Life of Bees, “Sunset is the saddest light there is.” The smell of flowers and grass brings a fresh scent to my nose. Nothing in the world can compare to the aroma released by the delicate daffodils among the green floor.
Of all of the problems that dishearten children today, the one that bothers them the most is being unhealthy. Five out of six students from the Manalapan Englishtown Middle School agree that there should be a change in the schools' cafeteria foods; they came up with a solution to help kids be healthy. Unhealthy foods should be eliminated in schools for many reasons. First of all, kids concentrate better when they are healthy. Being healthy helps children to concentrate better because if they are healthy in the inside and the outside, they will not have to worry about their health or how they look. Secondly, having only healthy foods in school help parents to take good care of their kids. For instance, imagine a mom that is a seventh
I think vending machines should be allowed at schools in America because of these three reasons. To begin with it makes the school money. Another reason is that some students don’t have enough energy to stay awake in class. Also the machines could carry drinks and students can get drink.
Obesity has risen over the years. The United States now has one of the highest obesity rates. Bad eating habits are usually the cause of this pandemic. For the past few decades, college dorm foods have led to these habits. The more unhealthy food choices are, the harder it is for people to resist these foods. Colleges serve a variety of unhealthy food in their dining halls that contributes to students’ lower GPA. By eating healthier, students can maintain a healthy weight, focus better in school, and increase their school performance to a higher grade point average (GPA).
68 percent of students say they buy food from the cafeteria every day. Proper nutrition is tied to better academic performance. This means that kids will not do their best in school if they are fed unhealthy lunches (Black). The unhealthy lunches kids are given at school are the main contribution to childhood obesity. According to scientists, children who eat too much fat, sugar, sodium or processed food and too few vitamins and minerals are likely to develop a higher risk over time for several chronic health problems (Angela). These health problems include heart disease, and diabetes. At this time, more than ever, 55 percent of Americans are obese and 20 percent of Americans are overweight (Three Facts About School Lunches). Many schools offer healthy choices, but they did not decrease the calories in them, and they typically still offer unhealthy snack items (Three Facts About School Lunches). In a school cafeteria with both healthy and unhealthy choices offered to kids, most kids are not willing to choose the healthier choices over the unhealthy ones. So where an apple is avoided and a bag of potato chips is selected as a child’s first choice for a snack
Anne Bradstreet originally intended to share her verses only with her family and close friends. Without her prior permission, her brother-in-law John Woodbridge took them to England and published them in 1650 under the title The Tenth Muse Lately Sprung Up In America. Apparently, Mrs. Bradstreet anticipated the skepticism with which her poetry might be received. In her Prologue (above), she apologizes for her lowly attempts and begs the reader to forgive her for her simple verses. While she admits her poems cannot compare with those of the Greeks or other great poets, she humbly asks to receive due credit for her efforts. I imagine Mrs. Bradstreet would be amazed to know that her humble expressions of devotion for her family and her God are still read and admired today, since she didn't initially intend to publish them at all.Anne Bradstreet (1612-1672) was America's first female poet and is considered one of the two greatest New England poets of the 17th century.
Junk food, junk food, junk food is around all corners of schools. Chocolate, cookies, soda, potato chips, and Sour Strings may sound delectable to some people, but are they nutritious? Some people wonder if there should be a change. Encouraging exceptional nutrition in schools is essential by reasons of students will consume foods that are better for them, schools will pay less for meals, and fewer students would go hungry.
