I walk through the locker room. Everyone is patting me on the back after I won MVP and the championship. “ Being a student today is harder than ever. You are being held to tougher academic standards - and so is your school. The stress can get so intense, it feels paralyzing. Schools should keep their sports programs because sports help kids with academic achievements and it helps kids manage their mental and emotional health. Schools should keep their sports programs because sports help with academic achievements. Kids have more focus when they get physical activity. When kids get that activity it releases the hormones that have building up in your body. A quotes from Scholastic Should Your School Get Rid of Sports it said, “When you’re stressed,
It’s Friday night the timer is ticking the whole school cheering for your team, your body aching and exhausted from pep rallies all day. The lights glistening. There are three seconds left you make the winning touchdown and you score. You won the championship for your team. Do you want all of these memorable times taken away? Schools need to invest into their sports programs like never before. Schools should not get rid of sports because sports relieve stress, they improve physical and academic health, and kids can afford school sports since club sports are more
“3 seconds left, we have the ball, enough time for one play. Number 3 lines up at receiver, the quarterback yells “Hike!” He goes long, the quarterback throws the ball as far as he can, he jumps up and snatches the ball out of the air, touchdown!” Game over, we win by one point! Do you want to get rid of a moment like this? “Being a student today is harder than ever. You are held to tougher academic standards - and so is your school. The stress can get so intense, it feels paralyzing.” That is why schools should have sports. Schools should not get rid of sports programs because club or private sports can be too expensive, and sports improve students’ health
Children in our school grades will be affected by they will not want to pay attention in the classrooms because they may find it boring; being in sports will give them a drive to pay attention even if they find it boring because they will want to get grades and be better than what they were before in order to be able to participate in athletics. The school will benefit from keeping these programs by if the students are getting grades and they continue to get better, the schools rating will increase; thus, this will attract more students to the school. The more students the school attracts then the more funds the school will have which then will fix our financial problem. Keeping sports will improve the grades achieved by students which the will improve the ratings and also bring more money to the school so sports need to stay within our school
There are some people who believe sports should be banned from schools. Some people may disagree with them. Sports should not be banned from school. With the proper training of coaches and athletes accidents can be prevented. Sports also give children a chance to explore and see if they like doing things and helps show their interest. Students spend most of the day at school and that’s where they learn about most of the things they do. School can’t be about just learning because they are creating our future generations and our future generations need hobbies not just education. Sports at school also provides some health benefits. Sports in schools gives children the opportunities to exercise and help maintain their health. This helps them perform
Should we get rid of sports? Well, my viewpoint of this issue is that we shouldn’t get rid of them. I believe that sports are a good thing for kids, I mean it gets them out and moving. Sports help kids with their social skills in their adult days. Parents won’t have to worry about their child being lazy and unfit. Moreover, what trying to say is that if sports are no longer in school then kids would not be the same if sports were removed from schools. Sports help kids have some social skills they need when they’re older. For example, in the article “Are high school sports good for kids?” By Daniel Gould, PH.d, It says “For example, the mission statement of National Federation of state high
School is filled with many extracurricular activities, such as clubs, F.B.L.A, F.C.A, and of course, sports. There have been many remarks from people worldwide about the fact of sports should be banned from schools and just be about learning. Teachers and parents say sports are a distraction from the real reason student are at school, to learn. Other opinions, as well as mine, might disagree from the previous statement. Sports allow students to get in shape, be healthy, and interact with many other different people.
As you can tell, without sports, crucial elements are missing within student's lives. Sports contribute to the ability of socialization among kids, encouragement on academic performance, and achieving goals. These pieces would be affected greatly if sports were eliminated from schools. Lasting friendships from team sports, otherwise misplaced academic encouragement, and goal skills would be lost. Keep school sports. Save kids the
School sports are important to many active students lives, but they can be a distraction to their education. For years, studies have shown that students who participate in after school activities receive more failing grades than other students who don't participate in school sports. Therefore, school sports should not stay in tact because students don’t put enough effort into their education by this it decreases their grades, schools spend more time and money on after school activities then important stuff for their and education, and America then lags behind many countries in academics .
Many schools have been confronted with the issue of whether or not they should keep sports. Without sports programs, schools will be able to save both time and money that can be better applied to academics. Therefore, by eliminating sports, students will have more time for schoolwork, schools will have more resources for education, and children can get more sleep to stay focused during class.
Schools should not cut sports because it keeps them focused in class to get better grades.A quote in the article “Should schools cut sports”,a quote states that” According to a 2013 report from the institute of medicine physically active kids have
Most people can argue that sports have been a big part of the lives of young americans for a long time. Whether it was basketball, soccer, football, or dance, three out of four of today’s adults played at least one sport when they were in grade school (Datz). However, despite the fact that millions of people play sports, it has been predicted that by 2020, 27% of American high schools will no longer have athletics. Budget cuts are making it harder and harder to afford school sports, leaving the schools no choice but to take them away. The biggest issue is, though, that without sports, students are losing the many benefits that come with being an athlete. From the fact that students who play sports gain qualities that will help them succeed
For a long time, many people have been debating whether school sports should be eliminated. Athletic programs can be an excessive distraction for important things in a student’s academic career. Therefore, school sports should be cancelled to cut costs, help students focus on their education, and save time for schools.
Predominantly, sport teams that are provided by a school should not be terminated because of the health benefits that they can give to a child. When a child plays a sport even if it is not super physically active they still have a better chance of staying healthy longer. For instance, “ Kids who are active in school sports are fitter, have healthier body weights and are more confident. The risk of blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis and other chronic diseases is lower among physically active people,
Oh great. Another bad day at school. Good thing we have basketball practice, today, to ease my mind. This is how some people think about sports. However, some do not think the same. Therefore, middle schools are deciding on whether to keep sports the same way they have been or scale back some on sports. Principals and superintendents should not scale students back on sports because it helps them prosper in many ways.
To begin with I think that all schools should have sports like football and basketball. This question was quite easy to answer because I know for a fact that most people would agree with me. I know that people may argue because of the injuries but honestly they just need to toughen up. One reason that they should keep sports at schools is that it’s good practice for the kids. Another reason is that they can figure out if they are into it or not that way they don’t waste their time when they’re older. The last reason is that it teaches them good social skills that way they can get an early start at making friends.
