Today I'm going to tell you about how some schools, extend another hour in school and want To add. An extra hour of school due to half school boards, many people agree and, disagree With schools having hours added to schools. I personally think schools shouldn’t have to have Extra hours added because many students think is unfair. We go to, school to early And high school is really early, it would be better if we had a later start time for school And finished later in the afternoon. This schedule is better for our parents and are self's. The reason, I disagree with the idea of school boards having the idea of school's having extra Hours and a half hour of school is because I think most students would have to many
First, schools should not change their start times because it helps parents as well. One reason how that supports my claim is older kids can help younger children. When kids in middle and high school get home before their parents so they
Students feel as though schools try to contain them and that they are not able to be themselves. They are forced to sit in a chair for a certain amount of time and to quietly complete assignments. The thought of this recurring activity results in students caring less about school, which eventually makes their grades decrease. By shortening the school days, students wouldn’t be as distressed about going to school and their grades would be higher. Fewer school hours per day would permit students to have enough time to study, complete school assignments, participate in after-school activities and be able to get to bed by a decent hour.” Rachel D, Teen Talk student writer.
Have you ever just wished your school day as shorter? In some schools children have longer school days. In Finland the school day is fifteen percent shorter than the school day in the United States, but their test scores are much higher. People have different points of view on length of the school day in America. Some people think that school days should be longer to improve academics for students.“The US lags behind other countries in core subjects. In 2015, American students came in 24th in reading, 25th in science, and 41st in math out of 72 countries—not the worst, but far from the best,” (pg. 30) Because the U.S.A is behind, many experts believe that students should go to school for an additional 90 minutes a day.U.S.A. Some experts
The School Board wants to add one and a half hours to each school day. I disagree and here is why.
Well that would require us to add 1 hour and 45 minutes to each day. This would have us going to 5:00 p.m. each day. Some students get to school at 6:20 for athletics. If they had to stay until five, they will have been at school for 10 hours and 40 minutes which will easily over stress and work these students. Even those who don’t have athletics have to be at the school by 8:00 a.m. and would have to stay till 5:00 p.m. The classic american work hours are 9-5. That composes a 8 hour shift which is what most people work. This means that students will be here for 1 hour more than the number of hours most adults work.
Many kids today don’t like school, and many parents and teachers don’t understand why. “The amout of homework we have is unreal, I spend all my time afterschool locked up in my room doing homework and can never get any sleep,~Student.” Now, the school board plans to add and and a half hours to the school day, and I think that this is not fair. The school board should not add an extra hour and a half to the school day because kids will have less time to do homework, they will not recieve enough sleep, and they will have less time afterschool.
The school board wants to extend the school day, just so they can increase the number of subjects the students must know. More classes lead to more homework, and more homework leads to the student not having any time to socialize. Students will get overwhelmed with homework, even though we’re already getting quite a bit just alone. By adding more homework to what we already would normally have will upset the students. They’ll hate school even more. Yes, homework will help a student about a subject more. Most of the time that homework, that the students worked so hard on, don’t even get a grade on it. The students feel like they just got stabbed in the back by their own
My school board thinks its a good idea to add a hour and a half to our school day and I think that is the most stupidest idea in the world. As kids we already have to go to school for about eight hours and then come home and have to do homework almost ever night. So by the time we are done it's dinner time then after that it's time for bed. I think we should take a hour and a half off of school because kid should have more time to play, more time to socialize and develop better social skills, and finally would have more time to unwind for a long day of learning. If I had the power I would take the time off and make it where they only have homework every other day.
From the time we get to school to the time we leave school is a very long day. During the middle of school, some students and staff get tired. Trying to cram an extra hour in, is way to much. It’s already bad enough that school goes from 7:15 to 2:19. Most of those hours, we’re just learning or reviewing. Adding extra time to these long and stressful days makes no sense to me.
I agree that school days should be extended one and half hour to each school day. Hear are some reasons why I agree on this situation or agreement. Students can do better in school and outside of school. Students can learn more and better things in school. Also students can get even better grades then before. Next students can do there work better and have 100 percent. Lastly students can move their SRI and test scores up.
At first thought, more time in school may seem like a way to improve students’ academic ability, but its effects are quite contradicting. Schools should not add one and a half hours to school each day. Students with many extracurricular activities will find it hard to maintain their other hobbies and interests. Teachers also have other things to do that could relate to their career or personal life that must be done outside of school. These activities could be negatively affected by an extra 90 minutes of teaching. The extra time in class will also reduce the amount of concentration both the teacher and students have in class. Though education is important, everybody has their own talents that could be restricted or even dropped off due to more time in school.
to do their homework. Teachers already pile students up with homework and projects, adding time to the school day would just allow
I highly disagree with this situation about the school adding half of an hour. I will explain why it’s a bad decision. It is not a smart idea just to keep children in the school for an hour because
Tuesdays and Thursdays ended at 2:05. By increasing the amount of school hours students stayed in school for an extra hour three days out of the whole week. One victim of this stated “The extra hours of school has made me tired. Especially the final hour of school. The end of school was already tiring since it was after lunch, but now it just is not possible to focus.” Another student said, “With the extra hour of school there are more classes everyday, which means more homework and less time. There is no time for other activities too because of the hours.” This can be detrimental, in a number of
First off, some students have activities to do after school. A lot of students play sports, dance, cheer or etc after school. They do their homework, then go to their game or practice. These activities take up about one to three hours. We look forward to these activities because this is our only time to relax and feel free.
