Should Marijuana be legalized by the federal government?

There has been a sudden spark of interest in the debate about the legalization of marijuana in communities across the United States, but most people are misinformed with the way the government portrays marijuana, reading research that doesn’t provide clear sources and attempts to criminalize the use of marijuana. Only six percent of all medicinal research goes toward the study of Marijuana for medical use, but most people do not know what it is or how it affects your body. So this leads us to ask, what is marijuana? Where do other people stand? How could marijuana personally affect you? After all these questions we are finally left with the ultimate question, Should marijuana be legalized by the federal government? Marijuana should not be legalized by the federal government because the people will lose control, communities will flourish on a state level, and there are health benefits clear to even executive attention. Marijuana derives from the hemp plant, scientifically named cannabis sativa and cannabis indica. Marijuana consists of dried leaves, flowers, stems, and seeds from the hemp plant.
