Should High School Students Wear Uniforms

Uniforms would not be a great idea at Rancho Mirage High School because of the fact that RMHS can barely control their I.D. policy, so do you really think they can make a new uniform policy ? Coachella Valley, which is where RMHS is located reaches temperatures up to 120 degrees which is not uniform friendly, with temperatures that high is can be a safety hazard for students. If the policy is approved parents will be forced to buy uniforms which in many cases they can't afford and will now have to struggle more than they already are just to send their kid to school.

Most people that were surveyed at Rancho Mirage High School said that we shouldn’t wear uniforms. This is because uniforms are expensive, even though they say they are free but they actually take the money from your budget and also it depends how many kids you have at the house. Another reason that you should not wear uniforms is that people get to loose the ability to express themselves through clothing. According to studies uniforms are supposed to help you get to school earlier and more often, pay attention better, and also to score better on tests, but do they really? People that were surveyed said that how are uniforms supposed to help us be better at school it is just clothes.

With the upcoming decision of whether Rancho Mirage High School should have uniform, it is important that pupils, teachers, and parents alike see the points as to why the school should be for uniforms.

With gang activity, strict dress codes, and bullying becoming more relevant, the idea of school uniforms crosses the mind of many school districts across the country. Even though it may stop students from expressing themselves it would make it easier for staff members to enforce these strict dress codes, reduce the amount of bullying, and overall make schools easier. This essay will discuss the reasons that uniforms restrict the individuality of students, burdens families that cannot afford two sets of clothes for each of their children (Farrell), and serve little to none purpose in benefitting the education of students. As a school Rancho Mirage High School should wear uniforms. Uniforms would benefit our school in many ways, that people wouldn't think of. RMHS students are required to wear a lanyard with their ids to help quickly identify the students and also a quick way to see if they attend RMHS.
