Many occupations have dress code, do you think that it should or should or should not be required?
I believe employees should have dress codes. Why? Because you may never know can just pop up at your job at any time. You can have people that come for interviews with piercings, tattoos, and etc. If women have a dress code men should too. I wouldn’t want my workers looking crazy and all types of way. That could seriously drive customers away. In the first place, employees should have one because you can have important people show up to your job. After graduating from high school, I plan on attending college at Valparaiso University. Setting goals for myself prior to leaving for school will keep me focused on what is important, my education. I plan to be in the exploratory studies program. I feel like I have not been exposed to all the opportunities that will be available to me in the future, therefore I will explore my options before making a decision on a major. Some of my goals for my freshman year of college are to make friends and stay involved on campus. I think a lot of people choose to go home most weekends from college or stay in their dorm room which doesn’t allow them to meet new people. Students having to have uncomfortable clothes can not be relaxing to them. Which, making them rush school to get out of the clothes. Making them have lower grade and such not. So the dress code should be back to the way it was when there was no school uniform.
Dress codes are worldwide and many people have problems dealing with them. Uniforms or dress codes are implemented at both jobs and school. Some dress codes make it to where people cannot express who they are or how they may feel. Dress codes should be implemented but not as strict. Uniforms help many people financially, but that does not keep the issues such as bullying away. They also limit people to who they are and that is not okay. Lighten up on dress codes.

Yes, students should continue to make smart choices about their clothing, but a stricter dress code would only result in more problems. We should have our original dress code remain and not make any changes to it because it would restrict students from expressing their feelings, and some dress code rules can be sexist toward girls.

I can vouch from personal experience by having an interview at the famous over-priced furniture company, Art Van. Speaking with the manager on the phone, he seemed impressed by my experience and exclaimed that he could not wait to meet me. After the phone interview, the face-to-face interview took a dramatic turn of events. I was told that, “Young people like you waste my time and do not have what it takes to maintain a work ethic. You even have a lip piercing, what were you thinking? We will definitely have to pass on you as a candidate.” I was shocked and humiliated in front of their entire staff. I would have had that job if I had put on a different face.
