In order to increase productivity and learning time in school, administrators should allow students to carry backpacks to their classes. As a result of bringing backpacks to class, students will come to class prepared and organized, with no reason to return to their locker. Often times students forget their supplies and must utilize class time to retrieve the forgotten materials. With backpacks, students will already have their materials with them, eliminating the need to waste class time. Another advantage of allowing backpacks in class is that it will give students plenty of time to use the restroom between classes as opposed to during lecture time. High schools are notoriously larger than middle and elementary schools, therefore the five-minutes
Firstly, a lot of students agree that we should be allowed to carry backpacks. A poll in our school proves that 19 out of 20 kids say yes to this thesis. Also, many middle schoolers complain about having to carry their stuff with them to all of their classes. It can get really annoying if things keep falling or sliding off. Another thing deals with the lockers. Some lockers are hard to get open and that can be frustrating. Especially when the bell rings and the lockers still won’t open. Having our backpacks with us would be so much easier.
We should have vending and soda machines in the hall because some kids are poor and either don't get anything at home to eat or just get hungry fast because they got little to eat. Even if you are not pore you might have not had time to grab something to eat. And if you either don't get anything or you don't have anything and you don't like the cafeteria food you have nothing to eat for most of the day.
makes it easier to take notes and faster to write papers. Students also find it easier to keep things
Many Students at Bayshore say they need their backpacks throughout the day because their bus comes early, the students can’t get to their locker in time to be on time for class, or to simply make it get to class to class. Ally K, a student a Bayshore Middle School, says “ More than half of my classes are on the first floor, but my locker is on the second floor. This was the reason I brought my backpack to all my classes.” This shows that there is scheduling problem with some students because of the fact their classes and lockers are on different floors. The student handbook begs to differ. In the student handbook, it states “Backpacks and book bags are not to be carried around the school. These items are used to transport
In a recent survey 81% of students reported they were late to class because the passing period was too short and they either had to use the restroom or there class is too far away. Students should be able to have longer passing periods for restroom usage, and to have a little nutritional snack before the next class. If students had more time, they’d have time to get prepared for the next class. Lastly there would be less detention slips given out. Since they are so short students are upset because they are tardy and have to go to detention.
The importance of students being able to leave the school campus for their lunch hour is a great tool for them to learn the importance of returning to campus on time shows and also teaches responsibility on the student's behalf.
It could be very difficult for students to carry their stuff. They might have too much work for each class. In that case, they might not be able to have everything they need, because they have too much stuff. They could use their lockers to help them out some. The lockers would make it much easier on the students. They wouldn’t have to worry about carrying half of their
Should students be able to bring their blankets to school with them? Why or why not? If we allow students to bring their blankets to school with them then there’s going to be less kids stressed out about their work because they’ll be content and soothed. There’s going to be less students who will be late to school in the mornings because they won’t be freaking out on what they should wear to match the different temperatures throughout the school. There is the possibly if we allow students to bring blankets to school that it will get other kids around them get off topic or get themself off topic because they’ll be more focused on what’s going on
First, allowing students to carry backpacks around the school day would save everyone time. Since backpacks have a good amount of space and multiple pockets and sleeves it would allow students to carry multiple learning supplies or personal hygiene products. Like tissues, binders, laptops and pencils. The use of backpacks show that it helps students become more organized and don’t have to search their locker sifting through the debris of papers, pencils, old projects and other binders. This means less locker stops, which means less congestion in the hallways and this allows students to stop on the way to class. Like to use the restrooms, talk to a friend or personal hygiene needs. Teachers also wouldn’t have to waste class time writing a pass
Is it considered safe or a threat to let teachers carry weapons on campus? Teachers carrying weapons on campus has been a controversy for a while now, with one side of society believing it should be acceptable, and the other side believing it should not even be thought about. People believe that the unarmed man will is more prone to die than the armed man, as for the others they believe that there is too much potential for deadly violence. Since the well know shooting at Sandy Hook elementary took place in December of 2012, "72 incidents since Sandy Hook" (Vartabedian). This shooting brought people to question if teachers should be allowed to carry concealed weapons. Gun Control is the regulation restricting or limiting the sale and possession of handguns and riffle in an effort to reduce violent crime. Gun Control is a very controversial topic because both sides have great support. The second amendment states "forbidding carrying firearms in places such as schools" to protect those around (Scalia 1). Some people blame these vicious actions on "economy changes. People change" (Vartabedian). States are making changes to help protect their citizens. They are specific bills "only allow guns in public schools" (Frankel).
And also, the traffic in the halls often crawls at the SPEED OF MOLASSES. Simply to say, it can make you very late for class. “Students also go to their class missing their books because they don’t have time to go to the locker to get their materials. This makes it worse for students because they are unable to do work” (Abdelmalek).
Sometimes you will have a class outside and can’t get to and from that class in time. If you have a locker that is
Classroom etiquette in other countries is different than in the United States. Nathan quotes several international student’s and what they observe as the difference between a class in the United States and a class in their own countries. International students claim that what they observed is disrespectful and would not be tolerated in their own countries. They observed American students coming to class wearing shorts, flip-flops and sometimes even Pajamas; American students can eat and drink, American students pack up and leave the class when time ends even if the professor has not finished talking and that American students can leave class anytime without the professor’s permission. (78) This claim was also made by Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence and Intercultural Communication
Also if a students is hungry and feels they need to find a better place to eat and sociallize with oher classmates it shows that thery are not dedicated to learning rather dedicated to fulfilling there bellies. It creates a pathway of disguting nasty unclean area of the claaroom where it has a sticky floor the carpet starts to smell and get to become unbearable. Also it creates a stigma that the school isnt a clean schoool doesnt have a student body of un responsible students. Which create
Are you tired of being late to your classes? Maybe because the Romig passing time is only five minutes long. In the morning you get until 8:15 to get to class and throughout the day you only get five minutes to get to your classes. Passing period is a time when students get a snack, use the restroom, or stop by their locker, but mostly get from one class to another. Five minutes to do one of these things, isn’t a lot of time. Most students would agree that longer passing periods would be a benefit to all. If students had just two extra minutes they wouldn’t have to rush to class after using the restroom or retrieving materials from their locker.
