Abortion should be completely outlawed in the United States. Abortion is morally wrong and is the deliberate killing of an unborn human. Abortion should be outlawed because it kills a fetus and causes irreparable emotional damage to the woman. Even if a woman has another child after an abortion, the woman still always remembers that abortion and will most likely haunt her for the rest of her life. Morally a woman shouldn't be able to make the decision that kills her unborn child; the states' governments should combine their efforts to outlaw abortion. Whether a Liberal or Conservative, one should feel some sort of emotional distress when a fetus is aborted. When a woman is pregnant, the choices are: to take care of the child, adoption, or an abortion. The first two choices avoid the lost of a human life and would not cause a moral issue. Abortion is immoral and unfair however anyone looks at it. No matter what the circumstances of the mother in question, terminating a life can not be justified. …show more content…
A woman may become depressed because of the lost of her child and the psychological effects of an abortion have cause anxiety attacks. Doctors have even discovered a disorder in woman because of an abortion which is known as Post-Abortion-Syndrome Disorder (Lawlor). Guiltiness is also another emotion a woman may feel after an abortion and could even lead to thoughts of suicide. An abortion is selfish and it is not fair for an unborn child which deserves life, not death. In the United States, since 1973 over 46 million legal abortions have been performed (About Abortion). Those babies that were aborted could have been the next president or a scientist that solved world issues or friend to anyone. A whole generation has been wiped out because of
Abortion is widely debated across the world and in 1973 Roe v. Wade would start an issue with ethical and legal issues. There are multiple cases arguing why it should or shouldn’t be lawful to go through with this procedure. Women should have the right to get an abortion as It is her rights to decide if they aren’t able to be able have a child, the woman shouldn’t have to rely on anyone else, she should be able to make this decision as they have to carry it for 9 months and endure the physical pain. Abortion should not be illegal because it is justifiable in cases of rape, or when the woman has mental health or financial issues.
Various studies have been conducted to show the psychological effects following an abortion. According to the results some women experience depression and anxiety. These psychological effects reflect on several factors. Abortion may relieve stress by ending an unwanted pregnancy, but the event itself may simultaneously be experienced as a stressor causing anxiety grief, guilt, despair and anger. These factors could lead to depression, as feelings of powerless, anger and self-condemnation are emotions that underlie depression. Controversies exist whether abortion is linked with mental health or not. Future research requires a better understanding of the conditions that lead to unwanted pregnancy and abortion with the ultimate goal of improving women’s lives and well being.
Abortion should be illegal because it is murder. Abortion not only kills the baby but it also kills the mother in some cases. In many different countries
Would you want someone, your own mother even, end your life? You, a fetus, a starving being just months alive, which’s only life support is of the mother, becomes injected with a salt solution. Suddenly your small minuscule brain erupts from the inside out, and in a matter of minutes, you are sucked out of your home for short term of your life, and into the trash you go. How can this monstrosity be a legalized practice for over 40 years? Ever since that fateful day of the Roe vs. Wade court case, the United States was never the same. Ever since the stomping ground of Pro-Life and Pro-Choice freedom fighters started back in the early 70’s, as the court case above all other court cases within
There are many controversial issues being debated in today’s society; however, one of the more heated issues is abortion. Abortion has been around at almost every point in American history. Consequently, since the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade there have been approximately 57,762,169 abortions in America (“Are You”). This raises the question of should abortion be legal or illegal, and is this immoral or moral to do? The decision to have an abortion can be a difficult time in a woman’s life, but is not a moral way to end a pregnancy. Abortion in the United States should be illegal because of the effects it has on women, the immorality of killing a baby, and how it affects society.
Good’s article, “Why have so many states banned abortions,” offers an insight to the states that actually have put a ban on women’s right to abortion. This article offers a straight forward, non opinionated view into why some states have banned abortion. The article begins with stating that since 2010, 10 states have passed outright bans on abortions. Good is stating the facts, not leaning toward either side of the spectrum. Good’s use of statistics and several different examples of states that have already banned abortion, helped me as a reader to find factual evidence concerning this topic. His use of straightforward dialogue and discussion of why states are banning abortion, make for a solid and fact based argument.
Abortion is the ending of pregnancy before birth and is morally wrong. An abortion results in the death of an embryo or a fetus. Abortion destroys the lives of helpless, innocent children and is illegal in many countries. By aborting these unborn infants, humans are hurting themselves; they are not allowing themselves to meet these new identities and unique personalities. Abortion is very simply wrong. Everyone is raised knowing the difference between right and wrong. Murder is wrong, so why is not abortion? People argue that it is not murder if the child is unborn. Abortion is murder since the fetus being destroyed is living, breathing and moving. Why is it that if an infant is destroyed a month before the birth, there is no problem,
Abortions should be illegal in the United States. Abortions have been occurring since the 1800`s. They were banned in the 1880’s except to save the life of the women. However, the Supreme Court ruled in 1973, in the case Roe vs Wade that abortion is legal in the first trimester. I disagree with this ruling because it is morally wrong. Secondly, every human being must be responsible for their actions. Lastly, there are many options available to prevent becoming a parent. We have to right to decide when we want to become a parent, but not if it involves terminating another human life.
One of the most important philosophical issues ever concerns the definition of a person and who is able to feel. Abortion, which is a deliberate termination of pregnancy, is one of the most important practical applications of that issue. Life on Earth is threatened with destruction from overpopulation and the poverty that overpopulation causes. Fortunately, abortion can prevent overpopulation. The question about whether abortion should be done is primarily the question about whether the embryo or fetus is a person. In most cases, the embryo weighs less than 100grams: less than 10% of human brain. Abortion should be legal since it is useful and since humans become conscious after birth, not before.
Abortion is a debatable question that has been argued over a long period of time. The controversy of abortion has caused or may cause deaths and several violent conflicts between, should abortion be legal or illegal. Abortion is one of the most common medical procedures performed worldwide also known as elective termination of pregnancy (History,2016). Abortion is the destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mother’s womb. This procedure can be done almost anyone from the mother herself to back alley, most common, abortion clinics. More than 40% of all women will end a pregnancy by abortion and remains common in the US. But the questions is should abortion be legal or illegal?
of rape or incest may not want to have the baby, as it would remind
Through every choice in life, there is a decision that must follow. Abortion is a woman’s individual choice; therefore, must be a legal part in todays society. Individual rights have an outstanding role in the controversial topic, on whether abortion should become legal in the United States . The individual rights for abortion show rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. As well, women should be able to have the choice to choose to have an abortion for several important reasons. The right to make these decisions should lie in the hands of the “mother” to make decisions concerning their own to make decisions concerning their own bodies. In addition, women should be given the choice to have an abortion if they are too young
After a woman has an abortion, the chances are three to four times higher of the mother having a miscarriage because of damage to the uterus. There is a higher chance of the mother dying from having an abortion than there is from her dying from natural childbirth. Even though after an abortion the mother feels relief that the ordeal is over, feelings of “numbness” soon set in on their emotions. It’s not any different from what soldiers feel after being in the midst of war. It has been found in a study of 500 aborted women, 50 percent of them were dealing with negative feelings and 10 percent had “serious psychiatric complications.”
We Americans cherish our rights. Since the Supreme Court's ruling in Row vs. Wade, a woman's right to have an abortion has become the law of the land. Once a right to do something has been established in this country, it becomes near impossible to take it away. Pro-choice advocates accuse their opponents, pro-life advocates, of wanting to take this right away from women. It is a strong argument, and no doubt true, but if the right to have an abortion is ever taken away in this country, it will come from the pro-choice left, and not from the pro-life right.
Abortion is a legal medical method to stop the premature delivery that is adopted in most countries of the world. It was legalized many years ago but nowadays we live in the civilized society where the human life is the most precious treasure and the question about the appropriateness of abortions is of current importance. Nowadays there are two opposing camps who present their arguments. People who support abortion insist that prohibition of it will deprive people of their rights to have free choice. On the contrary, people who stand for banning abortion claim that abortion deprive a human being from the right to live. Every person must decide for himself what is more important: deprivation of choice or deprivation of life. Another point
