“Just go to room 341 Billy, and get a good night’s rest,” said Melda. “Can I have the key ma’am?” Billy got the key and walked over to the elevator, clicked the button and before he could move any muscle in his body Melda shouted “Billy, don’t go into any other rooms. Stay in your own room darling.” “Okay Miss. Thank you,” said Billy. The doors finally open to the elevator and Billy just slowly walkedin and started to wonder if this was a good idea. With a scratch in his voice Billy says “I’m starting to regret this.” “Why can't I go anywhere else? Am I going to die?” All these thoughts were running through Billy’s mind right now while his heart is racing faster and faster as he gets closer to the 3rd floor. Billy gets startled by a …show more content…
The door is locked so Billy looks around for anything to use to unlock the door and he remembered he has a paperclip in his pocket from his stack of papers for work. He pulls out the paper clip and unlocks the hinge. Right there behind the door are two young men. Billy recognized them from somewhere and he realized they were on the news. They were the two missing boys. Melda had been keeping them locked up for 2 years in a closet. Billy hears footsteps coming from behind him and turns around and sees Melda and two heavy set men. “I told you to stay in your own room Billy, and I specifically said do not leave,” Billy replied, “I heard them scream, Miss. I was worried. I’ll just go back to bed now.” Billy starts to walk towards his room and starts to run. He runs into his room and closes the door and locks it as the two large men run after him. Billy quickly throws his laptop into his hand bag and climbs through the fire escape. As Billy is crawling like a spider down the ladder into the dark, wet sky to run from the two men, he hears the men knock down the door and yell for him. Billy goes quicker and quicker, but soon the men start after him. Billy jumps of the ladder and runs for his car with the men still after him, and the men just jump down to run after Billy to stop him before he can leave. The men looked bigger and bigger as they got closer. Their arms looked like tree branches, and their body was like the
Billy experiences intrusive thoughts, flashbacks and emotional distress after the event occurred which we see throughout the events of the film.
From the start Billy thought some things were a little odd. The first thing that was odd about her was when she immediately opened the door and little comments she made to him. Then he thought she was a little dotty, but he was getting a deal. Finally, he decided she was off her rocker, but he compensated for all the odd little things she did by reminding himself that she was a sweet old lady. Billy should’ve trusted his instincts when something seemed off, but because he doesn’t, he ends up in a situation where something awful will
Billy then said that Jack you have a very low derogatory about this dangerous infection. Billy then told Jack this infection is slaughtering people. Jack giggle a little. Billy asked why did you giggle. Jack said because I created the poisonous gas. Billy gasped and asked why he was being so authentic. Jack then said because I already infected you with the poisonous gas and you are going to start feeling the affects of it in about 10 minutes. Jack then walked out of the room and told Billy that he was quite astute. Billy felt very Ungainly but he needed to make that cure or else he would be a casualty of the infection. Billy finished the cure in a nick of time and he injected himself with the cure. He was feeling much better and got his strength back. After he turned the injection into a gas so he could spread the cure to people faster. He then released the gas into the air and everyone who was infected became better again. Billy was a hero and he told the police let the gas out and then they caught Jack in one week. Billy was the hero and everyone appreciated him and was glad to have him in the city. Billy was very successful in his life and he became a part of
The point of view between the two pieces is varied, as stated above. The director/script writer may have chosen to disclose more information after Billy is either dead or unconscious in order to add more plot and detail. Although written pieces can easily describe sights, smells, sounds, sensations, and more, movie works cannot complete this without dialogue or extra scenes. Billy described the slight quirks he experienced while at the bed and breakfast, and the movie alternative of this, having Billy narrate and speak his thoughts, seems futile in the situation. An additional theory could be that the scriptwriter/director simply felt that the video’s plot, missing some of the elements and edge of the written plot, might benefit from an interesting new scene that provides watchers with more
At the beginning of the story, Billy strolls through a run down neighborhood. After that he finds this Bed and Breakfast. As Billy is walking up to the house, he gets this strange feeling of doubt. This odd feeling was almost preventing him from wanting to go inside the bed and breakfast. Billy almost turned around and headed back toward the hotel he was heading to. However, he ended up ignoring this, and headed on in to the bed and breakfast.
It is from here that Billy becomes unstuck in time and begins to jump throughout different times of his life in the past and future. The events of Billy’s past are certainly simple and normal things that many people
In the beginning , Billy thought the landlady was ‘terribly nice’,which he was quite grateful to have such a nice landlady who give him a well-appointed service, but as the conversations go on, Billy was then frightened by her weird and creepy contents, he ‘sat there staring straight ahead of him into the far corner of the room, biting his lower lip.’ tells the readers that he’s begin to frightened and suspect landlady, foreshadowing the readers that she might be doing something that couldn’t be trusted by Billy.
He desperately presses the call button, trying to get ahold of the receptionist. The receptionist responded, but unfortunately, they won’t be able to open the elevator for another nine hours because of other incidents firefighters have to take care of. Martin is devastated, crying as he curls up into a fetal position as he hopes that he will be saved and the fat lady will disappear forever. After crying for a while, he falls asleep.
That is not the usual horror story. For example in “The Monkey’s Paw” one of the main characters die and the reader doesn't care at all. What the reader is really wondering is what’s going to happen next, what will the monkeys paw do? In this story the reader is just wondering what Billy is going to find out, not what's going to happen. The reader likes Billy because he’s the first character the reader meets in the story.
Billy wants and needs to find a safe place to stay for the night. To impress the “big shots up at head office,” Billy attempts to find a reasonably cheap hotel. As Billy himself wants to be a smart and successful businessman, making good decisions and finding a cheap place to stay
While reading the story, the reader knows what is happening, and has a clue as to what is going to happen next. When Billy sees the “BED AND BREAKFAST” sign light up, the reader knows that, even if it is through some turn of events, Billy will make his way to the bed and breakfast. When the lady leaves Billy to go unpack his things, the reader thinks that something may happen, but nothing does. When he goes downstairs and talks to the lady, the reader may think something is going to happen to Billy. Instead, he just chats with the lady while drinking the tea she gives
Mike, Suzie, Hanna, and Triston were walking home from school when Billy the bully punched Mike for no reason! "What was that for!" Mike exclaimed. Billy grunted and continued to violently hurt Mike. Hanna ran away. Suzie watched and laughed. And Triston did nothing. Hanna came running back with an adult, Billy's mom. "Billy Sunflower Luis! What are you doing to that poor child!"
Mrs.Bibbit, Billy’s mother, and friends with Nurse Ratched, is another authoritative figure in the novel. Mrs. Bibbit gains her power by preventing Billy, from becoming an adult. At first Mrs. Bibbit does realize that Billy is an adult and is able to function in society, When his mother tells him he has plenty of time to accomplish things such as going to college, and Billy reminds his mother that he is thirty-one years old, she replies, "'Sweetheart, do I look like the mother of a middle-aged man?'" (Kesey 247). This shows that Billy’s mom does not seem to understand that Billy is an adult that is able to live in the outside world. This Results in him feeling Insecure and he chooses to remain in the ward. “Sure! It’s Billy, turned from the screen... If I had the guts.” (168). This takes place after McMurphy realizes that the men are there voluntary, Billy explains to McMurphy that he could leave at any time if he wanted to but he believes he doesn’t have the guts to go out in society. Unfortunately in the end it is just the fear of his own mother, and Nurse Ratched’s manipulative ways that causes him to take his own life. Another family member who manipulates her "loved one" is Vera Harding, whose control over her husband is similar to that of Billy and his mother.
They bet Billy two dollars that his dogs couldn't catch the “ghost coon.” When Billy and his dogs went to hunt the coon, they had treed him after a while. The Pitchard boys said they wanted the coon dead, so Billy climbed the tree to see if the coon was there before he cut it down. The coon was in the tree, but when Billy went to get his ax he saw that one of the boys had fallen on the blade. The boy asked Billy to remove the ax, so he did, but the boy ended up bleeding to death.
“Wow.” Danny says with a troubled look. “What's wrong dad?” Becca asks. “Nothing, sweetie. Just brings back some memories.” Danny says with a frown. Danny and the kids walk to the elevator. “What floor is our room on dad?”, asks Mark. Danny opens the card with the room information and stares at it blankly. “Umm… floor 2, room 237.”, Danny says scarcely. Mark clicks the floor number 2 and looks up at his dad nervously. The elevator moved up to floor 2 slowly and made a ding noise when it got to floor 2. Danny, Mark, Louise, and Becca all walked quietly to the room with their luggage. When they get to room number 237 Danny takes out his key very slowly and nervously. When he opened the door it was nothing but a beautiful suite room. “Wow! We got a suite?!” Mark said in excitement. Danny let out a little sigh in relief, “Yeah, I guess we did. I had no idea.” The twins sprinted into the room and immediately started jumping on the 2 king sized beds. Becca helped her dad push the trolley in with the luggage. Becca looks up at her dad, “Hey dad, when are they giving you that money?” “Umm.. I’m not really sure, hun”, Danny replies. There was loud knock at the door that startled Danny. “Hey guys, let me in.” It was Susan’s voice and Danny relaxed. Becca opened the door to see her mom holding a card. “What’s that mom?” Becca asks. Its our invite to tonight's dinner at the restaurant from the hotel’s manager himself. “What does it say”, asks Danny. Susan opens the card, “Welcome, Torrance family!
