Shigeru Miyamoto The video game that popularized video games, Super Mario Bros. The man that designed that game back in 1985 was Shigeru Miyamoto. A living legend in the world of video games. He created a number of Nintendo biggest franchises. Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Star Fox, and The Legend of Zelda are just a few of the games he has helped to create.
He joined Nintendo in 1977 just as they were making their way into the world of video games., Miyamoto said that he could work on a new game using some of Nintendo’s unsold arcade cabinets. Nintendo believed he could achieve this task and agreed to let him work on it. Miyamoto had gone through a ton changes with the story and finally ended up with a love triangle between a gorilla, a plumber, and a girl. This game would end up becoming Donkey Kong. He had been Mario’s main enemy until the release of Super Mario Bros. in 1985 and the introduction of Bowser.

Miyamoto designed three more games for Nintendo’s franchises, 2 for Mario and 1 for The Legend of Zelda, and also created another memorable series called Star Fox. Miyamoto used the new hardware in the console to allow the game to have an early implementation of 3d graphics. Just 10 years later Nintendo would release their second biggest console to date, which was named the Nintendo 64. Miyamoto designed Super Mario 64 which would pave the way for many more 3d platformers to come later.

The first console was called the Brown Box and was mad by a TV maker, Ralph Baer. The Brown Box was made in 1967. Nolan Bushaell bounded Atari in 1972. Atari then had its first big hit with the infamous Pong. In 1980 Mattel releases the Intelivision which is the first challenge against Atari’s rule. A problem with original game consoles such as the Atari 2600 is they had little memory. With such little memory Graphics could only be up to 160 by 228 pixels. There have been numerous inventors that have had their names stand the test of time. Achievements in technology that have benefited humanities health, knowledge, and even education. My experience with video games growing up is that I remember playing Super Mario and Tetris with my cousins. Every time I played, I felt an adrenaline rush due to the excitement, so, I became competitive, and was always looking for a challenge.
