I am running for sophomore class treasurer because I believe that we should have people in office that actually want to improve the school. I want to have a school where everyone feels like they belong, and have choices about what happens in their lives at school. What I have noticed while I have been in high school is that kids walk the halls everyday hating it not because of the work, but because they feel like their lives are being ran for them and that they have no control over them. They want to give their opinions and they should have that right. Does that mean that every idea is going to be great. No, but kids will feel they got the chance to speak their minds. This is an important time in our lives. We are growing up and on some things we should have a say. I want to make sure they do have that opportunity.

The first thing I ever wanted to be was a dentist. In my small community we had one dentist in the town I grew up in. I was at an age where everything I saw was intriguing. My mother had taken me with her to her dental appointment at the old school in my town where this Doctor’s dental practice was located. As a senior in my rural high school, I was lucky enough to get a head start in my career path which I feel I would not have happened if I were living in an urban setting. I am currently involved in the Health Care Academy through Chippewa Valley Technical College while being located in Ladysmith which is about ten minutes from my school where I am receiving an education to become a certified Dental Assistant. To become an owner of an accounting firm in New York has been a dream of mine since I can remember. Having the opportunity to shadow a person in my dream job I would have to make sure I had been well prepared for this experience. Before starting anything I would call and double check on the time in which I needed to arrive along with the date when it would be taking place.
