This play is used in taking advantage of defenses that over pursue, allowing offensive linemen to be more effective by pushing the defenders to one side. The slant run is exactly like it sounds. The runner will (HB) slant his angle to the outside after he receives the ball instead of running straight toward the line of scrimmage, The slant route is meant to get the receiver in the space behind the line of scrimmage and between the safeties and the linebackers. As a result, a receiver running in a slant pattern takes a couple of steps then runs towards the center of the field. The slant route is one of the harder plays to defend when ran right. Because the quarterback has a quick throw beneath the greatest amount of the coverage. But there

People were mistreated during WWII and were tortured in POW camps. Louie Zamperini, a character and a real person from the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, was in the army during WWII and had to go through the torture of being a prisoner at a camp in Japan. In the book Unbroken, Louie was going to be a famous Olympic runner until the Olympics were cut short when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and caused World War II to start. One day there was an open field, but not just any open field. This field was guarded by a goddess, Nixious (Nix-e-ous) goddess of disease. In this field laid her treasure, a young rancher and her cottage with sheep. This rancher impressed the goddess, and earned the name Simkaxzi (Sim-kah-z). One day, a mischievous young thief came to the ranch to take the sheep flock. As soon as he started to put a lead on one of the sheep’s neck, the goddess awakened. Nixious as furious as ever, and picked up the thief with her mighty grasp. She called Simkaxzi down from her small cottage. Nixious announced “Here is thy thief. Simkaxzi should you be thy one to decide punishment, what would it be.” Simkaxzi replied “Let his family be cursed with a disease
What would you have done if you were stranded on a raft with two other men for 44 days with provisions to last less than 3 days? This is one of the easiest things Louie Zamperini had to endure in “Unbroken”, by Laura Hillenbrand. The most important thing to be learned from the life of Louis Zamperini is to never crack under pressure, because of his survival on a raft, how he withstood the cruelty of the bird, and how he survived through the torture of Japanese POW camps.
During the Silurian period, approximately 420 million years ago the rock bed central New York sits on was formed. In comparison the soils in the area only date 12 to 14 thousand years back in comparison. This resulted because archeological evidence shows that the Tully Valley as we know it today used to be underwater 500-300million years ago (Baldauf, 2003). One effect of this is there are a lot of trapped salt minerals that built up over the years and lithified to become rock. During the last glacial event about 8,000 years ago Tully was cut into the “U” shaped valley we recognize today. After the warming event and the ice receded moraines and kames, glacial land forms became visible in the till left in the valley. The Tully was a lake for a while similar to the Finger Lakes running north to south (Baldauf, 2003). Contrarily to the Finger Lakes the Tully Valley sits higher above sea level and it eventually drained. Today only two main creeks are the only remaining water in the valley, Rainbow, and Rattle Snake which flow along the 1200ft incline.
War is a state of armed conflict between different nations, states or groups (War). No one can think of a time when the United States has not been in a war because this nation is constantly fighting. The element of war is seen throughout the novel Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, it is seen throughout the movie as well. In Unbroken whenever planes went missing there were search planes to look for those them. In some unfortunate cases, “Search planes appear to have been more likely to go down themselves than find the men they were looking for” (Hillenbrand 91). During this time of war in the novel, if some of the
Council Bill 20-409 establishes adequacy by addressing the social concern of marijuana possession in small amounts for personal use. Prior to the bill, individuals were charged with a criminal offense which remains on their permanent record. Having said violation on a permanent record potentially has negative effects on employment status and housing options. The bill, which decriminalizes small amounts of marijuana now provides for individuals caught in possession the opportunity for a self-sufficient life.

“ We are not leaving any man behind,’’ said George Washington. As he was the last person to leave Brooklyn. He was thinking about the narrow escape from ending the revolution. He was thinking about the disappointing loss that might’ve ended the war. This was the battle of Long Island. It was a battle of trickery and everybody knew what was at stakes. As this event was an event of fear and horror, It was a battle of surprises and mistakes. But, was it enough to end the American Revolutionary War?

Have you ever dreamed of living forever? Or have you had a fear of dying? Well the Tucks ,(From the book Tuck Everlasting, by Natalie Babbitt), had discovered a spring with everlasting water; or water that keeps you alive forever without aging, which they drank. After some time, the man in the yellow suit, figured there was something fishy about the Tucks, and discovered the Tucks’ secret about the spring water. The man in the yellow suit wants to sell the spring water. The Tucks appose. Here are a few reasons I oppose as well. First, there is only a limited amount of spring water, and there will be a fight over who gets it. Next, if everyone lived forever, the world would be overpopulated. Lastly, if there is no death, there
I felt that Vivian is an exceptionally intelligent woman. I really fell in love with her character, although she could also be very snooty and condescending. For example, when she told the ultra sound technician to go ahead and take a break. Jason on the other hand came across to me as very book smart and liked to show it off, but had a very poor bed side manner which was evident during his examination and during rounds with hi
This conversation between the three men depicts the contrasting situation based on the proper confusion act where one should cry (Ku), yet one should laugh based on zhuangzi's free spirit. This clearly demonstrate the contrasting viewpoint between crying and laughing, this text is quite rare since the theme of laughing or being happy is rare compared to the common theme of ku. This showcases how based on the confucian teachings, crying is allowed whilst laughing is not. Confucius believes that if one should not have sorrow one should not cry - this means that it is an external description of the inner feelings. Back to the text, crying is essential aspect of the funeral ritual performance and it is granted a moral significance, however zhuangzi
