In 1974, one of the most notorious serial killers Ted Bundy, began his wild killing spree. Bundy grew up with his mother, who he witnessed get abused on numerous occasions. His biological father remains a mystery. At age three Bundy started having an extreme fascination with knives. Bundy lived a life of isolation, he did well in school, but not with his peers. As a teenager, Bundy emerged to a much darker side. Some of his interests included: peering in other people’s windows and stealing things from others. Not only is Ted Bundy the most known serial killer in the 1970s, but, he continues to still be in 2017. Researchers for many years have tried to find an answer to the question what makes a person turn into a serial killer?
Similar to the 1960s the 70s were a decade of Women, African Americans, Native Americans, and Gays fighting for equality. Also, there were protest going on against the war in Vietnam. With the uprising of Ted Bundy massive killing spree many lives would take a dark turn, especially woman. As a student at the University of Washington, Bundy fell in love with his “dream girl.” Once they broke up, he became devastated leading to one of his stressors that possibly led to him becoming a murderer. When he started killing it was clear that his victims resembled his college girlfriend. His victims consisted of being physically attractive, they all had long brown hair. Women feared that they could easily become his next victim. Fear across America kept growing as the killings became relentless. Bundy’s killings didn’t take place in one location they took place in several states including: Washington, Utah, Florida, Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, and California. Ted Bundy …show more content…
