While still under employment at IPS I was made aware of a senior project that the owner Mike Brask wanted me to do for my project; he has had experience with SUU students beforehand and had a project prepared. The basics of my project would be based around SolidWorks as well as their new CNC (computer numeric controlled) Lathe that had just been purchased. While working on my senior project I was able to experience new training, new machines as well as hand programming for CNC machines.
The current software, AutoCAD was currently being used with a combination of MasterCam. AutoCAD would support the design work while MasterCam would be used to program the CNC router. The new program, SolidWorks would be used to convert all of the flat models

I was also able to work with and train with the current users of the lathe, as well as receive out of school training on how to more effectively use SolidWorks in a shop setting. For the second half I was also tasked with helping integrate the new CNC lathe into daily use at IPS. For this to happen I was to meet salesmen as well as receive training from the manufactures of the lathe.
The training for SolidWorks was far more intense then what I have learned in house at SUU, it was a five day course, consisting of eleven to twelve hour days of training. The company called Go Engineering provided the training as well as laptops and big handbooks of all the topics covered while training. Starting with the more advanced features of SolidWorks such as assemblies and animations, we worked our way through some different add-ons such as Weldments, Sheet Metal and even some Fluid animation add-ons.
After the training for SolidWorks there some concerns over whether or not implementing in would take too long and cause too much “heart ache.” After reviewing the training as well as covering new material that would help automate certain processes of design there was more cooperation as well as some excitement to push forward with the

Although there was a late start with getting the machine, it did give ample time to get the correct sub-programs working for the lathe. These are called post processors, they can tell MasterCam what type of machine it is working with, and how to control its specific parameters. They also hold very important bits of information such as where the tool holder is and the home position for the machine. I worked with Marc Sullivan from Remote Machining to be able to understand and get the correct post processor working, he was able to walk me through the process of setting up the SolidWorks to communicate with the
Guidelines are created to ensure a success interview process. Setup meeting time with the individuals, which will be interviewed and be prepared and on time. When conducting the interview examine the background of the organization and have a checklist readily available. Be on time for the interview be sure to pay close attention to what the user is saying and what the company are looking for. Refrain form using computer and information technology jargon. Collect both qualitative and quantitative information from the user. Distinguish between what is a desirable and essential requirement. Repeat back to the user what is
CAD systems are used for the graphic design, it generates three dimensional graphic designs, and the knowledge worker can check the design from different angles. The analysis of design via this way is much faster and more accurate than the traditional ways. It is accelerating designing phase by which it not only save time but also save cost and production phase can start sooner than expectations.
For my Senior Exit Project, I would like to shadow a neurologist, the doctor concerned with diseases and disorders of brain and spinal cord. I expect to see patients of all neurological statuses coming in for examinations and tests such as MRIs and CT scans. The types of patients I will most likely see will range from Alzheimer's and autism to epilepsy and infections. With the skills I currently have, I will most likely be helping the neurologist with the initial workup, so that will mean taking blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and checking their neurological status using the Glasgow Coma Scale. I have learned these skills though the JTED Healthcare Foundations class and have been tested off accordingly so I know I am proficient in

The object of this course and this project is to provide you with a realistic situation that you are likely to face in the real world business environment. You'll be working with limited information, limited support from your client, within a limited time frame - and yet, you have to get up to speed in a new area quickly, and make informed professional recommendations based on your research and analysis.
In particular, I was able to put in to practice knowledge I learned about overhauling pumps and working against a clock while trying to get the stern thruster in a capacity where it could be used for DP operations. The maintenance task became more challenging when things didn’t go as planned, but as an engine department we adapted to the situation and came up with a solution that was ultimately better than the initial plan.
I’m writing this memo because I believe the best way to donate one billion dollars is to fund the construction of a science and technology museum in the Detroit inner city. This museum will not only provide a safe learning environment but also foster a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in disadvantaged students. This museum will feature a program that will fund student research and products. This museum will create a safe place for students to study and learn about STEM, that is why I am placing it near Northwestern High School in Detroit. I will evaluate success using test scores from Northwestern because students in this district have very little access to academic resources. I will be donating this money for 3 main reasons:
For Claudia Cifolelli’s Senior Project, she provided service for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, Africa. This organization provides a safe haven for injured and orphaned elephants that have been victims of the illegal ivory poaching throughout Kenya. In order to help raise money to fund this organization, Claudia organized a silent auction containing art pieces related to wildlife made by students and alumni from Natomas Charter School and other local artists. The money she made went to the Medical needs of the Elephants in Kenya.

I am a senior at my school and will soon leave for college. My parents have decided to expand their housing ownership to the college district that I will be going to and I will be the one responsible for their new property. As you can imagine I know next to nothing about owning and maintaining a house and, after looking some things up, I realized that I also know very little about how to go about things in the real world. I started this project for myself so I wouldn’t mess up something important for them, but quickly realized that it would make a great senior project. I already know the basics of how to take care of both myself and a house but I realize that I will need more detailed information when I graduate. The main area for my project is English as I will be producing a finished manuscript on the subject of living alone for the first time.
Although the documentation of my senior project hours is complete, the knowledge that I gained and the experience are unmatched. The agreed project was to create an organization system for our metal shop tool room. I have been working on project since october starting with the design of a storage shelf and I have painted our tool room. I have reached thirty hours and I have more to go. I most likely have four-six hours left.
I can relate to this article to my own experience, when I was a senior in high school the senior project was very dull but it was important my senior year. If you wouldn’t do it you wouldn’t pass English 12 meaning you wont graduate. I still remember when Mrs. Marsh would explain it I would basically fall asleep. I felt like if she would make it seem more interesting it would catch my attention. I also feel like if the teachers don’t make an assignment fun usually the students think its dull and won’t even pay attention and complete the task. Since it was an assignment that was important I used self-transcendence by making my personal progress in the senior project because it was my goal to finish the assignment that was important in my English
During this part of my senior project, I had many struggles. I procrastinated too long, I got sick one too many times, I did not ask the teacher whose class I was going to present to if I could present early enough so I got points off on my project. I spent almost all of my free time working on this project, including a lot of money. My product cost the most out of this whole project, I had to pay for the paintball and the camera used which cost a pretty penny. The things that took the most amounts of time were, the driving, the editing, the mentor visits, writing the papers, making the simulation, and doing the project in general. Some of the good things I have done this far into the project are, I have found a mentor, I got an interviewee
