Imagine a student-athlete gets accepted to Greenville University with a 3.5 grade point average and 30 on the ACT. The student is planning on playing soccer and has worked incredibly hard in the classroom and on the field to make this dream happen. However, the school can only offer 5,000 dollars per year in scholarships because they must offer the same 5,000 dollars to the student athlete who got a 2.0 grade point average and 16 ACT. Education continues to produce class inequality due to standardized tests, specifically the SAT. The SAT is a standardized test in the United States that is used to evaluate students and provides a chance for students to obtain scholarships and admission into colleges. However, while everyone is provided an opportunity to take this test, research has been done to show that there is a positive relationship between income and test score. As the income increases, there is roughly a 12 point increase in score for every test section in the SAT. By implementing SAT into colleges and scholarships, education itself is empowering those who are already wealthy to get into better colleges or receive scholarships. Education reproduces class inequality by giving students the same opportunity to succeed but not exactly giving students a fair opportunity to succeed.

Students, parents, teachers, administrators and other interested parties all seem to have strong and different feelings towards homework. Students complain that they have too much homework to complete outside of the hours they already attended classes. Students feel that they have personal lives to live and blow off homework while some parents and teachers believe that homework is the key to passing classes and preparation for college.
