The role of the Health and Safety Executive is to make sure that the health and safety of their staff and others who might be affected by their work activities. For example, providing management and observing the statutory framework of all organisations, whether they are industrial, occupational or educational based. This would include all schools to have complied with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Explain why schools have policies and procedures
Schools have policies and procedures in place to support staff in situations that may involve violence, threatening behaviour and/or abuse among other policies which are all legal requirements within the setting of a school. Policies intend to provide a structure that makes sure consistent principles are applied to practice within a school. They aren’t planned to point out every imaginable event that might be applied within the policy scheme.
Policies can provide employees, governors and parents of prospective pupils with valuable information. For example, a parent might wish to see a school homework policy or behaviour policy before deciding whether to apply for their child to attend the school. Similarly, an employee may wish to see the schools staff development policy, its performance management policy or its leave of absence policy before deciding whether to accept a position at the school.
Governors should be made aware of any policies relating specifically to governors. These might include a governor 's induction policy, a governor’s budget scheme or a governors training policy. Policies should also support school staff, governors, parents, LEA officers and OFSTED inspectors see at a glance what
In my opinion, the way St Margaret’s (My placement) develop and communicate policies and procedures is really effective. Any new or updated versions of the policies and procedures are reviewed by the SLT and are updated onto the school’s website for staff and parents/carers. I feel as though this is communicated considerably well as it allows parents to feel comfortable that these are in place so their child/children have enrolled and are being taught and looked after in safe and caring environment.

These include the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 which was created to protect those at work by following procedures in order to prevent accidents.
Is a guideline to all staff on how pupils behaviour should be managed. It is important that this policy is constantly being applied to ensure full safety of the pupils, this is why all staff MUST be familiar with this policy.

Every school and business must have policies and procedures in place. A school's policies and procedures are adopted from laws passed by the Government. These are in place to ensure the school is run correctly, and that staff, pupils, and any other individuals involved with the school are protected and meeting expectations and guidelines. There are usually a large number of policies in place within a school. These can include policies such as Child Protection, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Confidentiality, Anti-Bullying, Teaching and Learning, Homework, and many more. These policies and procedures are relevant to staff, pupils and parents. These policies must be updated regularly, and some of the content revised, in order to keep them
Purpose of / Need for the Policy: Our school has high expectations for academic success and conduct, that are clearly outlined, assessable, and no excuses are made because of the upbringing of students. Students, teachers, parents, and staff initiate and reinforce a culture of achievement and encouragement with a range of formal rewards and consequences for behavior and academic performance.
It is important to read and understand these policies being that they are the rules the staff must abide under all conditions. Policies include information about procedures, protocols, and emergency steps that must be followed. They also contain information about the do's and dont's of the workplace. One major aspect of a policy is appearance. This includes hair, piercings and tattoos, makeup, jewelry, uniform, etc.
The policies are the connection to the daily operations. Policies reinforce the vision and endeavor to forward best practice within an organization. My experience with policies is they are vague and do not address specific incidents. The policies do provide boundaries or guidance and allow the nurse the leeway to provide care within the nursing scope of practice. They do provide a framework of the organizational expectations and standards.
Policy and procedure make an organization have a framework of how to operate and meet its goal. Policies are principles, rules and guidelines adopted by an organization to reach its long term goals (business dictionary). Sullivan (2013) states that policies are decisions that govern action and determine an organization’s relationship, activities and goals. They help make sure that plans and ideas of the organization are being followed and do achieve the set goals. One policy in my health care facility that needs updated is the English only Policy. This is because the current policy makes people who English is the second language feel like they don’t belong to the organization
Due to the mistreatment, and our education system being a big mess, people feel that a new government policy, would greatly solve all the problems that our schools are facing at the current moment. This then brings up the issue, what exactly is policy? According, to Birkland (2016), policy is a statement made by the government of what it intends to do, such as law, regulation, ruling decision, and what it will do to solve the current problem. This definition, seems to say that a policy is an official statement made by the government that intends to resolve an issue that the community has an issue with at the current moment. This is an important aspect of government and of policy making because, there are many issues that plague civilization, and in many cases, the people will look towards the government for help in solving these issues. A recent example of this, came in the form of people wanting better healthcare coverage, or a way to get health insurance for those who didn’t have it in previous years. For many years the American people had asked for a government policy to resolve this problem. The answer for many came in the form of the Affordable Care Act. The act helped many people get the coverage they needed, that they couldn’t get in previous years. While this specific policy didn’t solve all the healthcare issues the country had, and had its critics, it was a big step in trying to answer the American people’s call for help on the
Also, the actual structure will certainly establish the proper lawful rank of the regulator along with the result how the organization’s lawful standing up is wearing it 's functions and also operates. This lawful rank of the regulatory specialist would depend on the actual country’s politics and also lawful devices. Essential factors have to be addressed to produce a prosperous regulatory specialist.
Within my organization, there are policies in place to keep the functionality of the organization running smoothly. Policies such as how to protect yourself as well as the clients served, etc. These policies are made known to employees at time of hire and every so often during training sessions as reminders. To list a few policies at my workplace there is the privacy/confidentiality, training refreshers, the ratio of number of residents to staff and general rules for when the
