Into 11th grade I pursued this path of taking fashion classes in the city, and took fashion marketing classes in. From all the hard work and determination In these classes through out high school, I was rewarded with high grades, which are hard to obtain in these courses. I also stood out because I was interviewed and placed upon the FIT website itself, under “who’s in precollege?” (When you apply for a course) which holds the information and pictures of a handful of unique and stylish individuals. All of my fashion experiences as a whole have built me into the hardworking, determined, independent individual I am now and I am very proud that was able to achieve these aspects in order to reach my goal of being apart of the fashion industry. I also feel that this has made me eligible and also worthy of becoming a member of the National Honor Society who’s character will be beneficial towards this
My love affair with fashion started years ago, but over these past 2 years it has grown into something so beautiful. Fashion made it’s grand entrance in my life when I was looking over a Chanel catalog along with a few other designers. For example; Vera Wang, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Phoebe Philo, and many more. The designs caught my eye and I was just mesmerized by it all. It literally took my breath away! I always told myself and my family that I will grow to be an amazing fashion designer and sell beautiful, elegant clothing known to man. A worldwide known designer.

I received a BFA degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2014. SAIC taught me to approach fashion as an interdisciplinary medium that brings different areas of art together such as painting, sculpture, performance, fiber, and more. I feel that the time of solely creating beautiful things has ended. Accordingly, good contemporary art needs to be more substantial than a visual
Wayne Dyer once said “doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life”. Ever since I was a little girl, fashion has always been a very important part of my life. However, while most young girls were busy designing Barbie’s next outfit, I was enthusiastically trying to figure out the best way to market and sell Barbie to my friends. This habit did not end during my childhood years; rather it followed me through high school. I firmly believe that being passionate about your career can add much happiness and depth to your life. By attending FIT I can bring and take away positive ideas and qualities.

Starting back at Austin Community College I switched my major from Marketing to Fashion Merchandising. I know I've made the right choice to leave cosmetology school and changing my major. I've gone from a C student to A's and B's student. While at ACC I have experienced some wonderful opportunities through my Fashion courses. From being invited to go watch the University of Texas student fashion show the last two years and being invited to attend Austin Fashion week. During y time at ACC, I have met some amazing mentors who have encouraged me to continue my journey into the Fashion industry.
I am a student that takes academics very serious and as cliché as it may sound, I believe education is the key to success. I am actively involved with the Fashion program here at DMACC as Fashion Club President for this academic school year and I plan to continue to be active in both club and classroom settings. I will persistently work hard academically to achieve my education goals as I look forward to my long-term career

Although after graduation the clothing line ended, I stuck with graphic design to create my own lifestyle brand called “CoppClem”. The title is based off my parents maiden names. The main colors are purple and gold, my mother’s favorite colors. I have taken a course in my free time to learn more about Graphic Design through Coursera.com and it has helped me
My sister is my role model and I'm overjoyed that she has taught me many things that she has learned over the years. These experiences have led me to discover fashion marketing. If you asked me to describe it, I would say two of my major passions merging. It's incredible how there is a business and creative side. These events have led me to apply for an IFA scholarship. Truthfully, the one thing that will benefit me the most at IFA is the highly skilled lectures. I believe learning from business, marketing, fashion, and branding experts will have a great significance in my future. IFA fashion marketing bachelors will help me with my growth, which will have a profound effect on my success. For the past two years, I have done several internships to further my knowledge of fashion marketing. These include internships for Nylon Magazine, Diane Von Furstenburg, Carolina Herrera, VienneMilano, and Alice + Olivia. Throughout the hotter months, I have also taken classes like fashion business and retail marketing at FIT NYC to learn everything I can. Honestly, I very passionate about fashion marketing and if I'm awarded this scholarship, I will keep working hard to make my dreams come
F.I.T. has very distinguishing qualities that aren’t comparable to any other school, which made my decision to apply to F.I.T. so simple. It is a well-known fact that F.I.T. is the top school to attend for fashion, which is why I would be honored if accepted. To know that there is a school in the middle of one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world that offers the education and opportunity to learn and grow in the area of fashion of your choosing almost seems too good to be true. I am confident that attending the Fashion Institute of Technology will give me the first hand experience I need to lead me to my career goal in Fashion Business Management, and will allow me the best education that I can get while opening many doors for me in my
