The last sounds I recall hearing were three deafening bangs, and one boom. I remember spinning rapidly through what seemed like a never-ending hole of eerie darkness. My sassy, independent self was frightened, so I closed my eyes and prayed that I would live to see the next day. I eventually gained the courage to open my eyes, and continued to lie numb on the street, utterly confused. I kept wondering where I was, and even what day it was. I cautiously stood up as the cold drizzle continued to pour down all around me, collecting in crevices across the long, cobblestone street. I glanced down at my clothes, and saw they were destroyed by mud that had been splattered by passing horses. I continued to survey my surroundings , and that is when
And with that I hung up and turned my music back up. It was going to be a long ride, at least eight hours. Leaning over my steering wheel I looked up at the sky and found clouds forming. I hoped the snow wasn’t enough to greatly impact my driving. I had passed out of the town and into the next and the next town after that. Eventually I reached a town somewhat in the middle of Illinois. The town was called Mattoon. It wasn’t the most welcoming town I’ve seen. There were a lot of worn down buildings that looked like they had been burned to their last wooden plank. I had been driving for almost three hours, and my stomach was screaming at me to feed it. I decided to stop at the nearest gas station. As I pulled in even the store looked like someone had beaten it with a bat on every wall. The glass windows seemed to appear shattered as several spider legged cracks webbed across the surface making the inside look dark and horrendous. As I hesitantly opened the door that created a creaking noise that sounded like muffled screaming that you would hear while in the middle of abandoned woods where every tree would mold a different unnerving face at you, surrounding you with the sound of its bark screeching at you. The inside was worse than the outside. Every shelf was varnished with dust. The dissatisfying smell of mold and liquor created a feeling of sick eruption in my stomach. Nothing in the gas station looked pleasing to my appetite whatsoever. I never took the time to realize I was the only one standing in the odious gas station. I was the only one in here, but I could sense an eerie presence. I hectically moved to the door trying to get out of the building causing me to choke on the unpleasant smell. Before my hand could reach the handle I felt an excruciating pain spread across the nerves of my skull. And with that my heavy eyelids shut abruptly and I feel to my knees. I woke up in a
It was very late and everyone was asleep, I lay on a cot in the middle of a room surrounded by lots of other cots with many other girls like me sleeping on them. I left the room, against rules, but that was the least of my problems. Instead of seeing the old stained wooden hallway in front of me I saw grass...long tall green grass and a few trees in the distance. I looked around me and to my surprise I must have only been a few inches tall. I looked up but instead of seeing my white ceiling I saw a gray sky. I was so confused and scared, I turned around to run straight back into my room, but there was only grass and trees behind me to. The door was gone there were no walls, I was not in Miss. Bridget's Home for Girls in New Jersey. I stood still for a moment pinching my self seeing if I was dreaming, but even if it was a dream it was not working. I stared walking slowly, everything was quiet, no animals, no people for that matter, nothing except for the
As I looked around there was no one to be found. The park was empty and I was alone for the first time in months. The city grew quiet as people went home and the traffic started to settle down. I slowly got up and started walking towards my apartment of the edge of the park. It was late and most of the city lights were off to save the limited amount of energy that we have. But oddly enough as the minutes ticked by, the sky seemed
The sun had just turned but I knew I needed to keep on running and finish my jog. As the trees formed around me, I saw something flash into the woods, I swear it was a person. Nevertheless I kept on going at a faster pace, this place could be scary at night! Halfway down the track, the sun had just disappeared when I heard a scream. I ran even faster knowing there was something bad going on. Just before my eyes fell a body with a cut in the throat. I also screamed myself, then sprinted out of the woods up the road and straight to the police office. It was closing time and the door was locked so I banged on it furiously with my fists. Thinking back now that was probably not a smart thing to do, but I had just seen a dead body. An old lady opened
It all begun when I strolled down a main street into an obsolete gas station and felt that it was somehow eerie, eerie to the queerness of having a shadow dart in front of me and disappear as fast as it emerged. I was roughly two blocks away back home when I suddenly got hit by a stiff object on the back of my head. I fell to the ground, unable to breathe evenly anymore. I gasped for air, but that didn’t seem enough. Whoever was after me was undistinguishable, I tried to gaze around but there wasn’t anything to be seen, just the sound of footsteps impending to where I stay still. I considered dashing to the nearest doorbell to seek succor, but the voice in my head overcame the sound of my fiercely throbbing heart that echoed within my ears,
It was dark and hard to see, but I could make out a crumbling building in front of me. I slowly got to my feet and noticed I was in the middle of a road. The moon shone brightly in the sky, barely lighting up the city. I started walking, trying to figure out what was going on, why I was here. It was eerie, nobody was around.
It felt like drowning, a complete strange world full of extraordinary things, every person in that world were lost, some of the faces looks so familiar, I was worried about what’s going to happen next? Where are we know? I never understand what happened after that but I teleport to another place, It was a cold mountain and I was with my brother. That was a scary place too, but the weirdest part was my brother. He was sitting on a computer chair and rolling all over that time. It was a very cold and weird place and suddenly everything collapse, I fell down and I started to think that finally it’s getting over, this odd, strange and unknown world is dying. I get up from a tiring sleep, like I’ve had a terrible nightmare. All of us for sure had
I just ran. Before I knew it, I was out of the trailer and walking back down the trail. That’s when the real fear set in, it’s strange how you feel so open and exposed walking on a trail. The trailer was sitting there it looked almost evil. I turned a corner and it disappeared out of sight. But the feeling of being followed remained. The trail was almost a trench carved in along a steep hill one side it sloped down and you could see a small pond. I began to visualize what could've happened. The different ways it could’ve ended. I wanted to go back and see if someone was really there, but I knew that would be a waste of time. I summed it up in my head as the wind pushing the door open. I still constantly turned back, looking over my shoulder to see if there was some truth to what I thought, if something was actually following me. It was a windy day out and as the wind the blew the trees would creak and crack. Branches fell off and slammed on the ground crashing down and taking other branches with it. The sound was amplified through the quiet and almost sleeping woods. It was strange, there were no animals, no squirrels or chipmunks. The woods were dead. I was still looking over my shoulder every now and again, still startled by what I had experienced. The walk took way longer than it should’ve. It felt like the seconds were minutes and no matter how fast I walked I couldn't keep up with the pace in my mind.
Lisa ran across the woods as she heard those terrifying noises that brought back the haunting memories. It’s like she was living the moment again. Her eyes were filled with tears, running down her face. She hid behind a tree hoping nobody would hear her sob and come looking for her. She was terrified of her father and all the abuse she took as a child. She was frightened of anyone who tried approaching her. After a while of being alone on the woods she decided to go back to the family gathering they were having. As she was getting closer she saw a man standing outside, peeking inside the window… he was wearing a face mask and all black. She was even more horrified. She decided to go back into the woods and call someone to help
I wake suddenly, every thought and sound in high definition. My eyes take in every ray of light and without a doubt I know I've slept too long. I am laying on my side so the trees are standing horizontally and I stare out into the distance until a pair of shoes walk in front of me, causing me to quickly sit up and scream as my eyes meet with no other than the strange and possible murderer I caught earlier.
The more I thought about it everything started to change... everything started to fade and become blurry, everything was coming down the birds went silent the water stopped moving the sun stopped shining all was still even the breeze died. I didn't understand what was going on. nothing made sense... everything started to get cold and i felt not at peace any more but cold and dark everything got a negative feeling, almost like a heavy gravity. It started to get hard to see everything as it got darker and darker and colder and colder. The wind picked up but this time it was different it was cold bitter, it was bone chilling... it sent a cold chill straight up my back, at that point I was cold and just wanted to go home. so I stood up from the stump and looked down to see the ground cracking and cracking quickly. My very heart started racing and my mind sank I was scared, so I ran but it felt hopeless the darkness just kept creeping in closer and closer. The ground just kept breaking under my feet and my feet were sore and
The lights of the highway flickered as I jogged my way down the long narrow street into the dim lit alley. Mom told me to be back at eleven o'clock on the dot, I thought to myself as I checked my watch. It was a dark and chilly winter night. There wasn't much of nothing going on nobody outside just every now, and then a dog would let out a loud and frightening bark. It was starting to get cold as my clock hit 10:30 pm, as I enter the last ally from my house a white van drove past me going real slow. I thought nothing of it as the van speed passed me. I was out of the alley and stopped to take a breath, when smack! Shocking pain and ache flew through my body like a wildfire.
My eyes slowly cracked open. The light flooded into my eyes, blinding me. I was very groggy as I rubbed my eyes to get a more clear view of where I was. I noticed several cars and trucks speeding by, going the opposite way. I turned my head the other way and saw my friends and all of our backpacks.
A few minutes later, I could hear somebody walking around on my front porch. I was panicking. I grabbed my phone and ran outside. I was going to escape from the alley. I started to walk around knocking on doors. Nobody answered, I started to think that everyone wasn’t home or sleeping. I barley walked away from home, and then I turned
From the corner of my eye, I saw the window. Through there I could see the night sky flooded with stars, the forest full of trees, but mainly, I saw freedom and the last hope of life and once again ran... the window must have been only a few feet away, however felt as if it was a few miles away. I reached the window and turned around she was not there. I looked down and cursed my imagination... All of a sudden, I felt the same breeze... threatening... I felt the need to turn around and saw the black figure heading towards me, eyes locked in mine. I knew what would happen... I felt a stabbed in my back as the glass cut into me... Falling backwards through the air, I felt the wind invade my body and my breath, caught in a web... BANG ... I felt a streak of pain up my spine as I hit the hard ground and saw her one last time... Clothes swaying in the dark. Fists clenched. Smiling at me through the
