There are 3 main reasons I want to be Sapphire manager, they are to help others, out of admiration, and for the adventure. One reason I want to be a manager of the Sapphires in out of my intense want to help others. I want to be able to assist people in their future, and help them achieve better outcomes. I am a fifteen-year-old sophomore and I attend Northeast high school. My favorite subject is Geometry. I am a very respectful and polite young lady. I love going to church, getting to know new people, shopping, listening to music, and going out with friends and family. I am the third child of my parents, I have two brothers and one sister. When gazing upon the night sky, there are many small shining lights. Though these “small” lights are actually large balls of gas. These star’s small appearance are simply due to the fact that they are extremely far away from earth which makes us wonder what happens to them. Each summer many children have wonderful summer camps to help them grow, expand and experience the world beyond their back yard. Underserved children often never leave their city or neighborhoods, rarely see the opportunities they do not know exist or have only seen on TV, for Camp Inspire highly intelligent “Precious GEMS” their minds are never challenged the way their counter parts are due to lack of access.
Team Gemstone was a great experience for me. I thoroughly enjoy my time in the challenge/adventure course. First, we split off into our teams and completed different team building activities. My team, team WALK, completed the lava challenge. We were given eight wooden blocks and had to get our entire team to the opposite side with out touching the ground or leaving blocks unattended. Overall, we completed the challenge successfully and felt good about our teamwork experience. Next, we moved onto the ropes tower. Here, we had the option of climbing to the top of the tower while attached to a harness and rope. This was also a fun experience for me, and hopefully everyone else involved.
