Sam Houston High School Reflection

As you may know me already, my name if Felipe Del Angel and I am from Penitas, TX. I am currently 18 years old of age and will be turning 19 on October 23. I recently attended Thelma R. Salinas STEM Early College High School. Many do not know this but I was actually in the first graduating class of this high school and I am honored to be apart of the first graduating class of Thelma R Salinas STEM ECHS. Throughout my high school years in this new school, there were unforgettable memories. Memories that can’t be forgotten. This was not the same as a regular high school. It felt like home, with only 120 students per grade level, the environment was so easily to adapt amongst each other. And that is what the real world is all about.

Good afternoon, fellow classmates, parents, and the staff of Lawson. Life is a highway requires me to make choices because if I don’t know where im going, how will I get there? To help you navigate, to middle school onto high school. The word Character has two C’s in it which one stands for Choice and the other for Consequences. Living a life of good leadership doesn’t happen by Chance, nor does it happen by Circumstance. It happens by Choice. This where I got the thought (Don’t stress you’re the best). I want to my mom for choosing Lawson my education so, thanks mom. I want thank my teachers for guiding us to the right track, inspiring us, and making us what we are today. I want to thank the whole staff of Lawson for making me happy everyday

I feel just as right now, this was not the time or the spot for Spelman College to have wiped out an occasion managing wellbeing concerns. Jackie Donahue life was in question here, and there was a probability of discovering a contributor here in Atlanta, GA. Jackie was relying upon somebody in this world to be a benefactor, so that way she could be carry on with her life and keeps on meeting expectations and bring up her youngsters. All as a result of an express feature that was discharged before that week by her sibling, Nelly, Spelman chose they would not like to host the occasion any longer.

I hope that your winter break was relaxing yet productive. Over the break, I watched a documentary that featured Crellin Elementary School in Crellin, Maryland. The purpose of this documentary is to show how real schools are putting democratic education into practice and what steps the school is taking to cultivate a democratic school environment. After watching the documentary, I took a brief trip to Crellin Elementary School to get a better idea of how to put democratic education into practice. Two results of putting democratic education into practice include encouraging parent involvement and student voice; which are three aspects of democratic education I look forward to implementing into my classroom this new year.

As a prospective Texas Tech student, I am anxious and excited to begin my education and hopefully start the next chapter of my life at Texas Tech University. Growing up I have always enjoyed helping others. The feeling you get when you help someone less fortunate than you, or someone that just needs a helping hand is something I strive to feel every day. My sister also attended Texas Tech and is currently working at High Point Village in Lubbock, where she helps to coordinate and create programs for people with mental disabilities. I was able to work with so many different types of people, and it's something that helps you realize how much we take for granted.

Having the opportunity to participate in SaM summer school was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. Without support from a Steve Martland bursary, this would have never been possible. The summer school has taught me alot composition and traditional/non traditional notation. Having the opportunity to partake in the vocal group allowed me to develop my understanding of the human voice and the skills to compose for an individual. I also found my compositional voice during the week, throughout the workshops in the week, all my mini composition had a distinctive voice. Our key tutor Kerry supported my compositional ability and pushed me further making me explore more “avant-garde” techniques. My final composition was for solo soprano

As a teacher in Carman-Ainsworth's Atlantis High School and under sixteen suspension and expulsion program, I was responsible for a year’s academic progression of up to 24 students of various grade levels, 6th - 12th Grade, with differing ability levels. I developed an individualized education plan for each student by building a curriculum based on results of a diagnostic test, student’s ability and appropriate grade level requirements. Through my life’s Achievements, I have seen that in order to be truly free, one must trust in and find light in themselves, then only will the Door unlock and Colors pour in. Through my various life’s Encounters, (the reactions to change, the control, the expression, the Trust), it taught me that Experience is the best Teacher and there is no one better to each you than yourself; however, it never hurts to get help from others. After completing the school safety inspection checklist at Falling Creek Middle school there were some strengths and some weakness observed. The first strength was signage and entrances system. In the course of my walk-through I witnessed the officer manager and secretary have all visitors sign in on a clipboard and then send their license through the rafter system before entering the main part of the school building. I truly appreciated noticing this process as an educator. As a result of this procedure it safeguards students in the building and protect all staff member. Equally important to the signage and entrances system the amount of exiting sign in the building stood out to me as being strength. I have worked at Falling Creek Middle for

The new school year brings forth an array of unique individuals and experiences. Each September, Eagan High School receives a wave of incoming freshmen, teachers, exchange students, and of course, student teachers.

While in Soquel high school I had to spend extra time in my English classes, I needed emphasize in my writing and overall skills, so I could be able to get better grades on my essays. My teachers helped me plenty of times although I dislike writing but I knew I had to do it for my own good.

My family is large; being amongst six siblings, We had to endure many hardships. Enduring hardships, my siblings and I were inspired to excel and challenge ourselves. My siblings taught me that we have to be diligent to get better in life. They helped me become who I am today. I will be able to contribute to Central High School with my ability to endure any challenges that Central wishes to place upon me. I also hope that while attending, I will be able to join the various clubs there, attend classes that may help me prepare for my future career as a scientist, and earn scholarships to many universities. Of course, I would also like to contribute my opinions, creativity, and leadership skills in order to help better Central High School.

I hope by now you’re used to high school and you reached some of your goals. I hope I  finally have an A in Mrs. Howe’s class and I can play the drums. The first semester of high school was exciting and interesting and we’ve made so many new friends. I’m satisfied with our class rank, and I hope we can maintain that or get even better. Now that we have finally completed our freshman year of high school, I look forward to sophomore year and learning a new language. My favorite class of first semester was health because I think Mrs. Sniff is a great teacher and the things she taught us were real world life lessons. Sometimes you learn things that you will literally only ever use in school and I feel like I never experienced that in her class.

Two hours were spent Saturday evening (Hybrid Research Day) reading, writing, reviewing, and adding citations to the final research paper. Since it was Jackson State University Homecoming week, I attended many of the festivities on campus, such as the Founder’s Day Program, and the parade. Additionally, on Saturday afternoon, I attended the football game, which was held at the Veterans Memorial Stadium. Typically, I used the hybrid research morning to complete assignments; but because of homecoming, I decided to utilize the evening. Nevertheless, I will continue my efforts this week completing the paper. I have thoroughly enjoyed the process as well as the topic.
