Many people say that you must have plenty in common with someone in order to be their best friend. However, in the novel Finnie Walsh by Steven Galloway, this is not the case. Finnie and Paul have a few things in common, such as their passion for hockey, but they were (for the most part) complete opposites. Paul's family has a struggle with money throughout the duration of the novel, while Finnie's family is quite wealthy. After Mr.Woodward's accident, Finnie is struggling to escape the guilt; meanwhile, Paul is able to let it go. Finnie is a risk taker along with being very outgoing; but on the contrary, Paul is very timid and takes everything in stride. Paul and Finnie have few things in common;

For example on (page 281 paragraph 4)they referred to the troop 909 girls “wet chihuahuas.” She does it to make herself seem cooler but really that makes her look bad. On (page 283 paragraph 2) she states,”she’d heard one of the girls from troop 909 call Daphne a n-i-g-g-e-r.” When Arnetta tries to point out witch girl called Daphne a “n-i-g-g-e-r” cited on page 297 paragraphs 2 and 3) she pointed to a girl who could talk but never did, then she changed it to someone else(cited in page 297 paragraph 4) the girl steps forward to show her uniform and says,”See, I’m a Brownie.” the narrator

When you sit down to write an I Believe Essay, the first questions you have to ask yourself is, “What do I believe in?” It’s one of the hardest questions to answer. I for instance believe in patience, the power of seeing the big picture, and people’s power to help you become a better person. Most people believed the attack put an end my surfing career. Determined to prove them wrong, I returned to the water one month after the attack, once again beating all odds. It was challenging to change what I was so used to, but I adjusted and started competing again. Within two years of being back in the ocean, I won my first national title. From 2003-2006 I was doing much more than just surfing, I appeared on several popular TV shows and also won multiple incredible awards. I became a source of inspiration to millions through my acts of faith, hope, and determination.

In the film an atmosphere of suspense is created using various film techniques such as lighting, music and through the plot itself. The film also takes on a Gothic tone using different characteristics and techniques such as the settings, symbolism, emotions such as fear and the different atmospheres in the film. The director explores the theme of good vs evil through different elements and characters in the film generally following normal good vs evil stereotypes with some exceptions.

In “Mean Girls” by Tina Fey, there are a few characters that stand out because of how interesting they are. One that stands out the most to me is Karen Smith. In the course of the movie, she deals with her friends bringing a new girl into the group and that girl ends up turning into the “Queen” throughout the movie. Karen has to go through with her friends getting into verbal and physical wars. The writer also reveals that Karen is not the smart one of the group. For example, she tries to catch a football with her chest and it just ends up bouncing off. She appears to be dull-minded and clueless. Karen Smith shows that throughout the story she is a static character because she never changes throughout the movie.

Madelyn Fynn, or Maddie, is the main character in the story When. Maddie unintentionally initiates conflict with a quality that she was born with and cannot change. Maddie can be characterized as a misinterpreted murderer, empathetic, and foremost, abnormal. Maddie is most definitely abnormal because she possesses an unusual trait, which is seeing the death date of every person she can see. This is introduced at the beginning of the story when Maddie says, “I’m not exactly sure when I first started seeing the numbers.” It is also asserted in the story when Maddie says, “How come I can see the exact date someone will die, but nothing about how, where, or even why?” Using this gift, her and her mother bring paying customers into their home and Maddie tells them the death date of whomever they request. They do this because Maddie’s father, a former cop, had been killed in a work related accident and later with the loss of her mother’s part time job, and unceasing alcoholism, they needed extra cash to get by.

Maddie Ziegler, born on September 30, 2002 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. This amazing dancer started dancing at the ages of 2 and went to Abby Lee Dance Company at the age of four. Later on she made it on the T.V. show dance moms at the age of 8. She was dancing on the reality T.V. show from the years of 2011-2016 as a dancer and actress. A little after starting Dance Moms she got home schooled for her busy schedule.

The Nile river has influenced Egyptian life and culture and it was also influenced in artwork as well for a few different reasons. The backbone of Egypt has and still is, the Nile River, which through its annual floods, supported all life in that ancient land. It has defined these cultures to the way they have developed along its banks. Most of the crops are used with the water from the Nile River because of its rich soils it brings to them. After this the beginnings of Egyptian civilization predate writing and are consequently obscure. On the banks of the Nile River around 3500 B.C.E is where they had the tombs, paintings, pottery, and other artifacts. During the time of 3500 and 3200 B.C.E many of the archaeologists had discovered the most expensive series of mural paintings on the wall of the tombs.

Being the adventurous and outgoing person I am, I aspire to be daring. Anything that has an element of danger catches my eye. I cartwheel down the stairs; I vigorously dive into the formidable waves at Jones Beach; I am the only girl on the wrestling team.
