Romeo and Juliet is an age-old tale of love, sweet-sorrow, and death, it is very common amongst schools, and there is always one question that everyone thinks about differently, who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Many would say, their parents, Friar Lawrence, or possibly even Tybalt, could be held responsible, although it is believed Romeo is who is responsible for their deaths. Though Romeo fell victim to his own mistakes, he is still to blame for what all had happened. In the beginning of Romeo and Juliet Romeo was in love with the beautiful Rosaline, and though she didn’t love him back he strived to get to her heart. Romeo always failed, and one day he was told to deliver a message and on pages 32-34 it read “Stay, fellow I can read. “Seigneur Martino and his …show more content…

The friar himself said on lines 77- 80 page 100 he stated “ If e’er thou wast thyself and these woes thine, thou and these woes were all for Rosaline. And art thou changed? Pronounce this sentence then: Women may fall when there’s no strength in men.” Romeo, had fallen out of and into love to
Do not Blame Romeo or Juliet for their Actions in Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare
Even though Friar Laurence was aware of Romeo’s prior love for Rosaline, he quickly accepts Romeo’s newfound love for Juliet. Instead of continuing to urge Romeo to slow down, he soon forgets his initial opinion and gut feeling and encourages Romeo's unrealistic ideals even more. He also gives Romeo a false sense of hope that by being with Juliet they can end their family’s feud. Friar Laurence later tells Juliet, “Come, come with me, and we will make short work...till holy church incorporate two in one” (2.6.177). Friar Laurence personifies the church, or marriage, stating that it will make them one, continuing to mislead them into believing that their relationship can overcome their family’s dispute. After Romeo is banished for murdering Tybalt, Friar Laurence tells him, “Go; get thee to thy love as was decreed… but look thou stay not till the watch be set, for then thou canst not pass to Mantua, were thou shalt live, till we can find a time to blaze your marriage, reconcile your friends, beg pardon of the Prince, and call them back with twenty hundred thousand times more joy than thou went’st forth in
Most people that have read the book , Romeo and Juliet, usually ask the question; “Which one of the characters is it to blame for the death of the two star crossed lovers?” Unfortunately, the answer to this question is extremely difficult to be found. This is because in this story, “Romeo and Juliet”, there are more than one person to blame. For example, some characters that has contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s death was the Capulets and The Nurse. This is because they didn’t support their precious Juliet all the way. They forced an arranged marriage on her without her consent because they believed that someone who is royal and noble is perfect for anybody. On the other hand, the person that is the most responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death is Friar Laurence, since he is a person who needs to plan stuff out more carefully, and who mostly cares for himself.
Romeo and Juliet are led to suicide by a large number of people. They are a pair of teenagers that are apart of two powerful households that are at conflict with each other. At the beginning of the play Romeo is in love with a fellow noble named Rosaline. Eventually, Rosaline does not love Romeo back and he begins to look for love again at the behest of Mercutio. There he finds Juliet at the party that is being held by Lord Capulet. Over the next four days their "love" escalates and it leads to the death of the couple, along with four others. Who is to blame for the deaths of these young lovers? Everybody in the play contributes to Romeo and Juliet's deaths, but it is mainly because of, in my opinion, Balthasar, Mercutio, and Friar Lawrence.
At one part in the play his friends think he is still in love with Rosaline when in fact he has forgotten about Rosaline and is in love with Juliet. Romeo is quick to arrange the wedding and doesn’t wait to visit Friar Lawrence. The fact that Romeo and Juliet didn’t stop to think about marriage is one of the factors that contribute to their deaths. The Friar also thinks Romeo is in love with Rosaline and expects that he has spent the night with her, because he is in a good mood “God pardon sin! Wast thou with Rosaline”, but instead he has spent the night with Juliet. Romeo has a close relationship with the Friar, he acts as a father figure. This is shown when the Friar tell him he is banished. Romeo threatens to kill himself but Friar Lawrence stops him and gives Romeo some advice as Romeo knows he can trust the Friar “ Let me dispute with thee of thy estate”.
There are many people in “Romeo and Juliet” who attributed to their deaths. Lord Capulet was a very mean man who never treated his daughter right. Friar Lawrence didn’t mean to do any harm, but he did! Friar John had one job, but failed, which led to the kids death. Therefore, Romeo and Juliet weren’t at fault for their deaths because they had help from Lord Capulet, Friar Lawrence, and Friar John.
Romeo and Juliet is a very tragic story of two young teens who fall in love, but in the end, they die because their love is forbidden. Many people ask, “Who is to blame for their deaths?” Many people caused problems that just caused even more problems. The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet’s unfortunate deaths could have been prevented if it weren't for a few people. The people responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are the families at the start of the feud, Lord Capulet’s servant, and Tybalt.
Is Rosaline, whom thou didst love so dear, so soon forsaken? Young men's love then lies Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes. Jesu Maria, what a deal of brine hath washed thy sallow cheeks for Rosaline! How much salt water thrown away in waste to season love, that of it doth not taste! The sun not yet thy sighs from heaven clears, thy old groans ring yet in my ancient ears. Lo, here upon thy cheek the stain doth sit of an old tear that is not washed off yet” (2.3.69-80). When Romeo opens up to Friar Laurence about his newly found love, Juliet, Friar Laurence’s reminder to him that just the other day he was in love with Rosaline foretells of misfortune to come. At one point during the two lovers relationship Romeo was going to commit suicide because he thought Juliet hated him for killing her cousin Tybalt. Juliet's nurse and Friar Laurence prevent Romeo from commiting suicide by stating “Hold thy desperate hand! Art thou a man? Thy form cries out thou art. Thy tears are womanish; thy wild acts denote the unreasonable fury of a beast. Unseemly woman in a seeming man, or ill-beseeming beast in seeming both! Thou hast amazed me. By my holy order, I thought thy disposition better tempered. Hast thou slain Tybalt? wilt thou slay thyself, and slay thy lady that in thy life lives, By doing damnèd hate upon thyself? (3.3.118-28). Shaeffer March 11 2024 Why Romeo is to Blame If you were Romeo and Juliet who would you blame for their deaths? Here is some background on that. Romeo is the main character and he has a crush on Juliet. They get married soon after and after that, Romeo gets banished from Verona for killing Tybalt and moves somewhere else, he gets messages from the friar and he doesn't get the news, but Balthazar tells him the Juliet was dead so he buys poison and he goes to the tomb and kills himself and then Juliet kills herself because she can't be with him. Now back to the story in William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is the one to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a love story that ends in death. Their deaths could be said to be caused by many but who's really to blame? The two fell in love at first sight, but soon realized that they belong to feuding families. Their last names weren't enough to break the two up. Romeo decided he wanted to be with Juliet the rest of his life and proposed a secret marriage. Friar Lawrence performed the ceremony and they were the happiest couple in Verona. Romeo and Juliet kept their marriage on the down low so problems would not arise. They story soon comes to an end when Romeo is exiled and Juliet starts feeling depressed. The Friar then gives Juliet a potion to “die” and bring Romeo back home. In the end the lovers’ tragic story ends with them both dead. But who to blame?
Blame is easy to find in Romeo and Juliet. There are many characters involved with the love shared between the two of opposing families. Some of these die, while others remain alive. Who owns the most blame for all of this? Balthasar is Romeo’s servant. In the play, he sees Juliet laying in the Capulet’s monument. Thinking she is dead, he immediately gets on his horse and goes to tell Romeo of her death. Balthasar says “her immortal part with angels live.” I believe that this character is someone to blame because he had told Romeo false information about his own wife. This led Romeo to commit suicide because of a lie. Friar John is also a character that I could put blame on for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. When Friar Lawrence asks about

Many have said that romance brings love and affection, but when taken to the extreme, it can lead to tragedy and despair. Among the great literary tragedies, Romeo and Juliet may be the most famous of them all. The eternal feud between the Montegues and Capulets prohibits the love of Romeo and Juliet and ultimately results in their unfortunate deaths. It may be difficult to truly determine who is to blame for the tragedy, because their lives had been influenced, criticized, and controlled by many figures. Among the most important characters, Friar Lawrence enables the forbidden marriage of the two lovers and devises a plan to ensure that they end up together.
