Romeo and Juliet Persuasive Essay "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." This quote, by Henry David Thoreau, would have been good advice for Lord Capulet in the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare. If Lord Capulet had followed this advice, he would have allowed Juliet to decide who she wanted to marry. Because he did not let Juliet follow her own dreams, he is to blame for the deaths of both Juliet and Romeo. Lord Capulet should have known that his servant was illiterate. When Lord Capulet wanted to send the guest list out, he gave it to his servant and expected him to be able to read it. If the servant had been able to read, then none of the deaths would have occurred. As the head
Depending on some scenarios in which we find ourselves in, we may go to extremes we never thought of going to. For example: How far are you willing to go to get what you want or desire? How far are you willing to go for love? In Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is displayed as the character who is willing to go the furthest when he goes against his principles, defies the authority and takes risks that put him in danger.
Romeo not knowing about the plan is what lead to their deaths. When looking at the fact that he forced her to marry a stranger and the consequence of him moving the wedding up, Lord Capulet should be
“The devil takes a hand in what is done in haste”. Haste is a major theme shown throughout William Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet. Many of the characters were impetuous in their actions and as a result, the consequences were tragic. The play itself unfolds throughout 4 short days. Lord Capulet was too eager in his desire for Juliet’s marriage to Paris, which ultimately led to her betrayal. Romeo’s rash decision to fall in love with Juliet soon became fatal. Juliet’s impulsive decision to avoid marriage ended her own life.
Juliet is a strong character in this book. She has the aspects of independence, determination, and love. Juliet represents these qualities in everything she does throughout the book. She shows very good character in the words she says. These next four paragraphs will go into more detail of these characteristics.
Throughout the riveting novel written by William Shakespeare, many connections are made with the text and the outside world. During Friar Laurence's soliloquy during Romeo and Juliet, he makes a clear connection between the two texts. While giving a speech to none other than himself, Friar Laurence asserts the main idea in his soliloquy as Chapter 4 of Pharmaceuticals : The Good and the Bad. His descriptive words are directly resembled by the idea of overusing prescribed medications. He is relating it to the idea that if prescribed medications are used incorrectly, such as overusing, using too quickly, or having too many, these can become a danger for humans and animals.
Throughout the play, “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet”, many different types of love are shown, however, I believe loyal, parental love, and romantic love are the most popular and influential types of love throughout the story. The Capulets and Montagues show loyalty for their house, the friar shows parental love for Romeo as the nurse shows parental love for Juliet, and Romeo and Juliet show romantic love for each other. These three types of love, loyal love, parental love, and romantic love, show many similarities to one another as they do differences.
Have you ever thought of breaking a rule, or defying authority for your own personal benefit? In the story Romeo and Juliet takes place in Verona, Italy where there is a rivalry between the Capulet and Montague families. Romeo (Montague) and Juliet (Capulet) are star crossed lovers willing to do anything for each other, but unfortunately their families prevent them from interacting with each other. One night Romeo and Juliet meet at a Capulet ball and immediately fall in love with each other.
In the play Romeo and Juliet, the character Juliet acts impulsively on decisions which eventually leads to her death. To be impulsive means to do things suddenly without careful thought. Juliet’s flaw is revealed in the story when she meets Romeo at her balcony in the middle of the night. Juliet tells Romeo, “ If that thy bent of love be honorable, thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow” (2.2.150-151). Juliet has only known Romeo for a few hours, since meeting at the party Romeo crashed.

Starting from being in different houses, banishment, to ancient grudges (from who even knows what time the grudges were made!?). One issue being Juliet's father- Lord Capulet. In the play he is quite an important character, and impacts on the story dramatically!
Namely, Capulet plays a huge role in how much pressure Romeo and Juliet have to endure in order to follow their family’s wishes. If Capulet had just agreed to Juliet originally marrying Paris and not said “My child is yet a stranger in the world,/She hath not seen the change of
This proves he is acting irrationally and short-sighted, as he is thinking with rage rather than thinking further into what his actions may cause and consequently bring upon his exile. Exile is death through the eyes of Romeo and Juliet, testing their will to live while being without each other. Henceforth, Romeo’s lack of foresight in his actions is the catalyst for the two lovers to die. Another aspect contributing to Romeo and Juliet’s deaths is Lord Capulet’s decision to accept Paris’s proposal to Juliet, which lacks proper insight. Lord Capulet does not receive the outcome he expected from Juliet, proven by his proclamation “An you be mine, I'll give you to my friend; An you be not, hang, beg, starve, die in the streets,”(3.5.192-193).

That quotes means why is you name Montague. This is a beautiful quote and shows how much they love each other even with the family grudge. This also shows how much Romeo and Juliet would do for each other.
