In this essay I shall be explaining why William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet belongs in the ninth-grade curriculum. Romeo and Juliet should attend the ninth-grade curriculum because of these three reasons. The first reason is that ninth-graders are at the age where they start to catch feelings for each other and if they read Romeo and Juliet they can stop and think about the people they are catching feelings for. The second reason is that the book has lots of inspirational quotes that I think students can learn from. Finally, William Shakespeare is a great writer and deserves more people to read and learn from his novel.
Love is spoken about a lot in all of these stories, one thing that these stories talk about is love can come with a cost. As you will see in these stories ( Romeo and Juliet, Pyramus and Thisbe, and Duty) there will be death due to love.
A: He and Juliet are both alive, and the prince changed the law so he might still live.
William Shakespeare wrote the play Romeo and Juliet, which is about the star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet are forbidden to see one another, due to their families’ feud. The Capulets, Juliet, and Montagues, Romeo, are the enemies in this feud. The question is, were the parents against them? Or were they just trying to protect and make them happy? Shakespeare was born on April 26, 1564 and died on April 23, 1616. When he was eighteen years old, he married Anne Hathaway and has three children, Susanna, Judith, and Hamnet.
One time I was writing a paper for school. I usually have my Dad proof read it so any mistakes in spelling or grammar won’t be on it when I turn my papers in. This time I wanted to do it by myself, with no help. So that is what I did. I was determined to get a good grade and prove to my parents that I could get a good grade with hard work. So, finally the day that the paper was due, I turned it in, feeling that I’ll get a good grade. My determination and hard work lead to a good grade. Much like the characters in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. You might say that Romeo’s determination led to him finally led him to be with Juliet.
Should one of Shakespeare 's most famous plays, Romeo, and Juliet, be removed from the freshman English curriculum? Romeo and Juliet was written by William Shakespeare and is a tragic play about two star-crossed lovers. Romeo and Juliet, the two main character, deny their family’s feud and choose to fall in love, but the choices they let others and themselves make lead to their untimely death. The classic play was written in mostly sonnets, a form of poetry and contains most of the English literature devices like figurative language, foreshadowing, imagery, etc... Also, Romeo and Juliet has part of the English curriculum for decades. Romeo and Juliet should still be part of Niles West learning curriculum since it’s still relevant because
Shakespeare does this by noting how Romeo and Juliet do not actually love each other. This is represented by Romeo and Juliets actions and rash decision making. Their decisions are very impulsive and rushed. As a result, it impacted them negatively in the future and as well as their relationship. Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other is not actually how love really is. They’ve mistakenly confused lust for love.
In the scene of the Nurse, Lady Capulet and Juliet, it shows that the Nurse knows more about Juliet than Juliet’s own mother when Lady Capulet didn’t know her age. Even though Juliet and Lady Capulet are related by blood, the Nurse is more of a mother to Juliet than her. Another significant thing about this is that Lady Capulet looks at Juliet like an object just to get
The play of Romeo and Juliet is different from William Shakespeare’s other tragedies in that there is not a clear distinction of individual heroes. The two protagonists are more passive than active; both are naïve and lacking understanding. The hero is often thought to be the romantic, yet often hysterical, Romeo. But Romeo’s immoral background, emotional outbursts, mishap murders, and foolish actions make him a poor candidate for a hero. Juliet proves to be more innocent than Romeo because she possesses more rigorous moral ethics. Juliet is also more successful in overcoming the obstacles that she is faced with throughout the play. While both characters
If one was able to look into our classroom, they would see the kids rushing to the whiteboard to try and get a part that they can read. Spots filled, they anxiously wait to continue on with the story. Then that person would ask, “Why would they be so excited to read something so old and outdated?” Well to answer, it’s because Shakespeare’s work is still applicable to our lives today. Shakespeare should stay in the 9th grade curriculum, because it strongly relates to today's day and age, keeps the kids in the class active and paying attention, and helps convey a strong message that everyone should follow.
The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is about the dilemma of choosing love over loyalty for your family. In the story Romeo and Juliet come from separate families who hate each other, but still find love in each other. They get married without telling their families and eventually the two families get into a fight which ends in Romeo getting banished from the city where Juliet lives. They have a plan for him to get back into to the city to prevent Juliet from being forced to marry another man, but it fails and ends with the suicide death of both Juliet and Romeo. Shakespeare's major theme in the text is that Love plays a major role in our lives and can heavily affect our decisions.
Do not apologize for your absence, dear friend, as I have come to terms with your family’s busy schedule. Either way, I would like to be the first to congratulate you on such a momentous occasion, and fully support your unification with Romeo. Never has it crossed my mind that you would ever engage in such acts of love, being one to always detest the idea of a life-long commitment. Nevertheless, I feel the need to remind you of maintaining modesty and your composure, to ensure you don’t succumb to the unwanted pain that love can bring forth. Those initial feelings of love can often drive those inflicted to engage in irrational acts, which can be quite dangerous in your circumstances. Although I lack sufficient knowledge of who this Romeo
