I will analyze Rome which was founded in 509 BCE on it’s government's responsibilities.
In Rome, the government had to provide a public service. The Romans did an excellent job at providing a public service. Rome deserves an A for providing a public service. First, they built a highly advanced water system using aqueducts. This water system was important to everyone in Rome because everyone including the plebeians was able to use this public service. Using this water system could cost little to nothing. Having these water systems made bathing an affordable luxury to almost anyone. Secondly, the Romans made great roads. These roads stretched over 120,000km (or 74564.5 miles). This helped the Romans move armies, people, and goods across the

The law had 12 tables of rights. Each table had a different topic on laws. I gave Rome an overall grade of providing a rule of law be a B. I graded this topic a B because the most of the laws are fair but some are lacking fairness. One of the laws from the 12 tables states that, “Anyone who gives false testimony shall be hurled from the Tarpeian Rock.” This punishment is harsh even though the person giving false information to sound true. This punishment was a public execution. Another law says that, “If a father sells his son three times, the latter shall be free from paternal authority.” This isn’t fair because the son didn’t do anything wrong. This is using another person to get your freedom which isn’t right. The majority of the rest of the laws are fair. A plus about this category is that there are written laws. Before when there was no written law, high class people could make up laws for their benefit. Rome deserves a B for the good and bad. Also, the Romans had to prepare for common defense. Rome gets an B for preparing for common defense because they were powerful but also strict in some perspectives. Once, the Roman Army invaded Britain. The British Army was 10 times their size. The Romans still won! To join this powerful army, you had to be a male Roman citizen who was at least 20 years old. Soldiers could not be married while still being a soldier. Soldiers had to stay in the army for 25 years! After this
The use of roman roads not only protected the empire, but they helped trade and Christinaty grow throughout Europe. Everybody in Rome and in Europe depended on roman roads to get them where they needed to be. Roads didn’t just help their civilization grow and become successful, they were able to share new ideas with Western Europe. Roman roads are still used to this day in many parts of the world. People would have to change the way they lived their lives if they had no roads, there income would dramatically drop and life would be a lot
I gave the Roman government provide public services a A-. The Romans had a well working government when it came to providing public services. They built roads, post offices, and they had fire departments. The Romans created jobs by building new things they had pavers pave the roads and builders to build the post offices and fire departments. Another thing the Romans were good at was creating new things that made a big impact on their village. The Romans created a bath house where the Roman people would wash themselves by using a sponge on a stick in the bath house they also had toilets to use. The Romans invented a heating system by boiling water so it is hot and then putting it at the bottom of the house and use the steam to keep them warm
The romans had the Sea Lanes, that were roads that connected ports, making possible the transportation of grain from city to city, for example. They also had the Tiber River, which made the city grow a lot. It was the natural highway for traffic in Latium, and provided an early defense against neighbors. And the Roman Roads, that linked all the
Stock issuance costs were recorded as a reduction in paid-in capital and are not considered to be a component of the acquisition price.
Besides having a corrupt government, their government was also disorganized and the people in it were not sure how to run a government, or at least that’s what we think. Today, among many other topics, we will examine their government and what went wrong. So basically the point of this essay is to prove that Roman times, although more interesting, was not an ideal time to live in. So, we need to ask ourselves today, was it really worth it?
The Roman republic met the common good because they met the 5 purposes of government. I gave an A to Rome when it came to providing public services, they providing public baths to the Roman Republic, Rich and poor were able to go into the public baths, Men and women had separate public baths because it would be weird if they were together… This benefited Rome because water could be used for Drinking, Public baths, Food, Cleaning etc. I gave Roman rights a C because of the way some people were treated for example: woman. The Roman republic had rights and some Romans did not have any rights at all I would give them a C for these reasons.
When it came down to providing public services the Roman Republic earned B-. The reason it earned a B- because they made roads that were smooth and good to ride on this benefits everyone because people came to trade with them and when they were leaving so it benefited everyone. Also it earned a B- because they made aqueducts they channeled water to their crops and to their houses but the only problem with that were the pipes were led so that led to led poisoning
The Roman empire met the common good in 5 different ways. The first way was providing public services I gave an A. The next one was providing protect rights I gave this an D+. The following one is providing rule of law I gave this a B+. Then there was common defense I gave this an A+.
Roman technology has contributed to the expansion and governance of the Roman Empire by revolutionizing and introducing many inventions. Aqueducts were not initially built by Roman engineers, but the construction of them began to improve in 312 BCE because of the unprecedented ideas that the Romans introduced. Aqueducts were used to supply water to the cities through fountains, public baths, and for houses with wealthy Romans. They were also used to help power mills. ¨Roman aqueducts used gravity, not pumps, with a slight downward
On top of this, a good road system also made it easier for the emperors to control their empire because messages and orders could be sent quicker with the help of roads. In addition to this, Roman roads were so well made that they lasted for centuries some of the roads are still around today. Secondly, coins were a good use of keeping unity
I gave them a B+ because they made a law system where if they broke the law you had to be punished in some way, they also made a justice/court system, where you could call people to court for doing something you think was wrong. This law system was called “The Twelve Tables.” The Romans came up with the Twelve Tables which was aimed towards both the Plebeians and Patricians, which made them both have equal rights, but that wasn't until later in the republic. Their laws are very specific and if you did this, that would happen to you, so people knew that if they broke the law, they would undertake a serious punishment They would be hung up everywhere listing “if you do this, this will happen to you” kinds of punishments. This made people rarely break the law because of how terrifying some punishments were. (Source: Teacher

Currently I am the Renal nurse for the Columbus VA. Renal nursing is a very specialized area of nursing directed towards individuals with kidney disease. My job is to work along aside with the nephrologist providing care to veterans whose health are compromised by kidney disease or failure, as well as those undergoing hemo or peritoneal dialysis. Large number of veterans seen in this unit has complex medical issues. My duties require me to do a lot of care coordination to ensure continuity of care, to allow a smooth transition in services. I serve as a liaison between the physician, patients, and their families on a daily basis that includes making numerous phone calls between the units, outside of the VA, outside dialysis units, hospitals,
The ancient Romans were skilled engineers and have left lasting contributions in this field. The Romans built a great network of roads connecting cities throughout their empire. They also built aqueducts and bridges using arches for support. The Roman arch design was by far the most important innovation of their time. The arch, however, would have been useless without the discovery of concrete. The Romans had many other such discoveries that would make their engineering skills known throughout the world.
In the Unit review, I chose the Roman republic as more successful than the Roman Empire for multiple reasons. The roman republic has the most influence on how our current government is, where every couple of years we elect new powerful figures, just like they did in the Roman republic. The officials were chosen every year unlike the Roman Empire who got the officials by inheritance. If the current emperor would die the next person in line would inherit the power of being the emperor. I think the way the republic chose its officials was fairer, since the Emperor was just given power for being born to a certain bloodline, while the consuls and dictator had to earn the power. The way the Roman Republic's government members were given power was
