Some things that made Cassie courageous was that she stood up for Little Man, her little brother, at Great Faith Elementary School, stood up for her and Stacey, her older brother, at the mercantile, and she had to ‘grow up a little’ and apologize to her rival, Lillian Jean Simms. Cassie truly had to be courageous to get through the hard times.
