Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln navigated through times of war effectively; George Washington through the Revolutionary War, Abraham Lincoln through the Civil War, and Franklin D. Roosevelt through WWII. In all of these wars, the U.S. turned out triumphant. Effective military leadership is connected to being a good president, due to the significant impact it has on a nation’s ability to navigate through times of war successfully. One other factor in World War II is the war guilt due to the Treaty of Versailles. World War II was one of the most significant wars in history. It is also the deadliest with a death toll of, approximately, 56.4 million; almost half of which were Soviet fatalities. Furthermore, the amount of people who met their demise during the time of this war is absolutely devastating. World War II could have been avoided if there was better cooperation and communication across the globe.

World War II happened because of a multitude of things because of the way they dealt with Germany. The start of the war had many things contributing to it. The battle of World War II was a very difficult thing to go through. “World War II began on September 1, 1939, when 1.5 million German troops invaded Poland.”(World War II) World War II made people leave their families and go fight. It also got countries involved that originally weren’t and don’t need to be involved. A great leader should not only be able to take care of his country’s financial and domestic problems on the home front, he should be able to lead his country to victory during wartime. World War Two began in 1939, and lasted until 1945. It was started by the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles forced Germany to lose lots of its’ land and people, have to openly accept the guilt of war, that World War One was their fault, and they had to pay 6.6 billion pounds to the Allies for damages caused by the war. The crushing defeat and ultimate failure of the Axis Powers was caused by significant events that had a great impact on the war. The Allies were victorious in 1945 due to the sheer military power of the United States, the infamous Soviet Transformation and the ‘Battle of Moscow’, the crushing fall of Japan and the vast resource differences between the Axis Powers and the Allies. These major events that took place during World War 2 helped shape the victorious outcome for the Allies, by not only weakening the German’s military force, but also its confidence.

Well, as we all know, World War 2 was the most vicious, bloodiest, and brutal war of all time. Over 60 million people were killed in this murderous war. There have been a lot of turning points that led Allied powers to conquer. Germany was capturing land very fast. Allied power needed some help (another powerful country to join). One of the first turning points was the air attack by Japan on Pearl Harbor that was on December 7, 1941 and led over 2000 innocent deaths, more than 1000 wounded more than 15 ships and 300 airplanes were destroyed. On the same day Franklin D. Roosevelt entered World War 2 for Allied power which made a significant turning point that led to decisive victory.

The winner of the WWII was Allies, and there are many reasons that can explain why Allies can win it. The most important reason is that Allies gained most support from the public and citizens because Allies represented the justice side. However, there is also a crucial factor that helps the Allies to win the WWII which is the new invention and technology. Inventors made new weapons such as tanks, proximity fuses and atom bomb. The impacts of these weapons were positive to Allies in WWII and those new inventions make a big step of human progress.

So the question has to be asked, was it the US entrance into the war that made the defeat of Germany inevitable, or it caused by the German attack of the Soviet Union.
