There is no global leader that has affected my view of the world, but one has absolutely influenced how I would formulate a view of the world, and then act upon it; that someone is Richard Holbrooke. The way he handled the civil war in the former-Yugoslavia should serve as an example to how every diplomat should deal with any challenge facing the United States.
Holbrooke had a no-nonsense approach: he decided what he wanted to accomplish, how to do it, and then did it. During the civil war in Yugoslavia, the Serbs committed acts of genocide. Russia, with an ethnic affinity to the Slavic Serbs, wanted the rest of the world to remain neutral and let the Serbs continue their atrocities. At the time, Russia became temporarily democratic, and the
A great leader who I admire is Colin Powell. He was born on April 5th, 1937 to immigrant parents, Luther and Maud Powell, from Jamaica. He was raised in the south Bronx and graduated from Morris High School in 1954. While studying geology at a community college he decided to join into the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program. He graduated from the program in 1958 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He married his wife, Alma Vivian Johnson in 1962 and they have three children together.
Nixon used his power of executive agreements manipulatively in a strategy that he called, linkage politics; this is a term for strategically organizing the United States relationships with communist powers (Small 1999, 63). Nixon knew that he must settle the Vietnam War with honor because it was a stake in Southeast Asia. Using his theory of linkage politics he saw that the end of the Vietnam War would affect negotiations with China and Russia (Small, 1999 65). He first tried to make an executive agreement with Russia, by explaining to them his idea of “strategic parity. This was an idea that because both nations had enough weapons to completely demolishes the other, neither should start war, and peace would continue. Like Eisenhower’s attempts, Nixon was unable to make an agreement with the USSR and talks continued to be slow (PBS Nixon 2002, 2).
In Western Civilization there have been a few incredible people and events that would have an absolutely unbelievable effect on their current events and the future. Some of these people and events include Martin Luther and the Reformation, Elizabeth I, the American Revolution, Henry the VIII and Napoleon Bonaparte. They would create a lasting effect in not only their countries but also the world as well.
I admire commander Masoud, because he was a great and honest man in Afghanistan. He started to struggle again Russian regime when he was young, and when he became elder he fight again Talban also .He was a successful commander then other, and their main aim was to serve for his people, and to be independent .He believed to election so he wish to president must be select by voting process eventually he killed in Takher province of Afghanistan by two journalist with bam blasting .The commander or leader whom I like is Masoud .
In a time of political chaos, numerous approaches to contending with the USSR were offered by various politicians, yet “the man who got things right from the start was, at first glance, an unlikely statesman… Through a combination of vision, tenacity, patience, and improvisational skill, he produced what Henry Kissinger terms ‘the most stunning diplomatic feat of the modern era…’ As Margaret Thatcher put it, ‘Ronald Reagan won the Cold War without firing a shot’” (D’Souza). Henry Kissinger was an “old nemesis” of Reagan, yet even he “observed that while it was Bush who presided over the final disintegration of the Soviet empire, ‘it was Ronald Reagan's Presidency which marked the turning point.’ [Additionally,] Cardinal Casaroli, the Vatican secretary of state, remarked publicly that the Reagan military buildup, which he had opposed at the time, had led to the collapse of Communism” (D’Souza). The great quantity of figures who have acknowledged the intelligence Reagan’s actions validates these actions as such. Many democratic opponents argued that “the West should ingratiate itself with the Soviet Union by pursuing ‘the stuffed-goose option—that is, providing them with all the grain and consumer goods they need.’ If Reagan had taken this advice when it was offered in 1982, the Soviet empire
Name and explain the values this leader lived out, especially those for which she or he is best known.
“One person can make a difference and everyone should try.” -John F. Kennedy. During Eleanor’s life, she had a big impact on people. Adlai Stevenson, the UN ambassador for America at the time, remembered her as, “the First Lady of the World.” UNICEF needs a new spokesperson with goodwill, after Alyssa Milano has stepped down. Eleanor Roosevelt
One of the leaders that influenced me significantly were president Ronald Reagan. President Reagan has done incredible works to make the U.S become much stronger nation. He found ways to create more jobs, reducing tax rates and signing the agreement with former Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev to end cold war.
World leaders have immense power. Some use that power for good; others use it for evil. Whether they are looked upon fondly or not, world leaders are still loved by many people. They can inspire good character, good morals, and responsibility. The best example of this is how people view the United States presidents. Some of the former presidents are considered heroes, and even depicted to be on the same level as gods. These people have been so highly praised, that saying anything bad about them is looked down upon. There are statues and monuments dedicated to presidents such aslike George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy, and so on. This illustrates the fact thatThe point is, former US presidents are held in high regard. One of these presidents held to this high standard was the US president throughout most of the 1980s. His name was Ronald Reagan. Reagan
Leaders change generations. They change history. They are also responsible of changing each of our personal lives. Leaders have the power to do amazing things, but also have the choice to make unwise decisions. Why should we let foolish leaders destroy our world more and more? We need wise leaders. Just leaders. Honest leaders. Dear fellow Australians, this is why, I should be Australia’s next Prime Minister.
King and Kyi The world has always recognized the most powerful leaders from our history and name that stands out is Martin Luther King Jr. He was a leader of thousands and had a way with words that would make people stop where they were standing to listen. Another was Aung San Suu Kyi, wanted her people to have a Democracy so their voices could be heard.
Every politician who is considered "great" overcame all of the odds to prove their power and determination. I know that if I was presented with even half of the strife that some of the most recognizable figures in politics had to face, I would have a mental breakdown, but somehow, instead of turn away, these remarkable men and women met their problems head on and fixed them to the best of their abilities. Although I do not believe I could ever live up to the standard she set, if I could be anyone who has been active in politics, I would be Eleanor Roosevelt.
Throughout history, there have been great leaders, some for the good of humanity, and some for the not-so good of humanity. The one element all leaders have in common is in some way, have changed the course of history. The one great leader I have found to be interesting and envision of a great leader is William Bradford, an original passenger on the Mayflower, and the first ever governor elected on what is to become, American Soil.
So far, in my 18 years of life that have passed, important events in my life have had an impact on my development. Connections between physical, social, cognitive and
Some of the most loved and respected leaders in the world are known for their imagination, risk-taking, perseverance and their well-known success. They have always been one step ahead everyone else and created what no one else was able to do. They influenced other people to be as imaginative and hardworking as they were. They never stopped believing in what they were doing. The two most leaders who fit all these descriptions would be Walt Disney and Bill gates, even thought they have a lot in common, their leadership style was completely different.
