While listening to the Ted Talk of Dan Buettner “How to live to be 100+,” he provides information and evidence that help him prove his point. In the beginning of the video, he says that only 10 percent of how long people live is dictated by our genes and the other 90 is dictated by our lifestyle. With that said, he states that we are not programmed to live a long life, but have a procreative success. According to Dan Buettner, some of the things that can help people live longer are move naturally, right outlook, eat wisely, and connect. I think Dan Buettner content of the speech is accurate and makes me feel more convinced on how to live a longer. He explains how these two myths are not true and yet we are expected to live up to 78 years of age. One of the four things that can help people live longer is move naturally. Moving naturally doesn't necessarily mean exercising but physically doing active activities. For example, people living on top of a hill need to go downhill every day to work. They walk every day to the store and restock, which means they need to pick things up. Buettner explained that these people live up to 100 years because they are always in motion and are never stable. The second one is right outlook every culture has their own downshifts and purposes. For instance, different culture has different traditions and follow their beliefs, like praying. They support each and try to influence one another by exchanging ideas and giving sincere advice.
