“I 'm here today to introduce the man who will be my partner in this campaign and White House,” Trump said, beginning his remarks to a small crowd of New York supporters in the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. “I found the leader that will help us deliver a safe society and a prosperous society, a really prosperous society, for all Americans.”

In his quote, he promises to “Make America Great” and when he says this, he assures the Citizens of America that somehow, together, they will fix America. Trump focused more on the hope of a better future, rather than the gloom of reality of America. Clinton also used the promise of a hopeful future in her Democratic Nomination Speech, rather than the fear of America crumbling without her in office. She said in her speech “building a better tomorrow for our beloved children. ”(Clinton 2016) When she says “tomorrow,” she refers to the future of America, instead of the past, which makes her speech hopeful instead of fearful.

The Inaugural Address is one of the most important speeches a president will make in their term. This speech sets the tone of how a president will govern the people of America.
