Do you wish you could change something about the dress code? If you could what would you change. For me I would not change anything about it. If it were my decision I would not change anything. I would not change anything because nothing is wrong with it. A lot of people say that it is too strict. I don’t think it is. In my point of view it should be the way that it already is. People should dress with respect and not disrespectful. Students complain and say that it should be changed. In my point of view it shouldn’t be change. It should not be changed because kids should dress with decency. Also it makes them look more responsible and trustworthy. Last they might act more responsible. It should not be changed because there is nothing to
Dress code Utopia? More like dress code UNOPEia. The ridiculous adjustments to the dress code over the years from elementary school to high school are absurd. Students of the ages 14 through 18, or in high school classes, should be allowed to make proper decisions in the clothing worn on a daily basis as teens will not have a guide line on how to dress in the future when they are adults.
Let us begin with the obvious. Changing the dress code allows for kids to be comfortable wearing clothes. Many students will be able to move a lot better, not having to wear tight clothes. It also means that students can wear the clothes they have and not have to spend money on new clothes.
Conclusively, there are many more important reasons why schools in our country should adapt school dress codes. The schools that participate in the traditional wearing of uniforms, are getting a jump start in the countless number of advantages schools can get to help up their statistics. Learning that there are many minor issues of the judgmental side of the dress code, a few more issues come from the simple fact of students not having to worry about what they are wearing the next day. Additionally, teachers would not have to anguish about getting on the students about their dressing habits. Likewise, not only the teachers, but the parents as well would have a much more relaxing day and would imply the skills that the students need to help
Implementing a dress code can have both a positive and negative effect on the school and its students. Some of the pros of having a dress code is that it can promote a sense of security. It puts less pressure on people to stay up-to-date with the most expensive and latest fashion trends. Another positive effect is that it does not distract students’ as much so they are able to focus on their studies. I can understand why some schools may feel this way. When you look at some of the clothing styles nowadays, you see a lot of sagging pants and really short shorts and skirts. This can be distracting, but not in a way that it would turn someone away from his or her studies. Establishing a dress code also promotes discipline in students. It creates
We have some concerns with the dress code. We think it should be updated. Girls are not allowed to wear athletic shorts anymore yet guys wear them everyday and people seem to not have a problem with that. We understand that we need limitations but it seems that like the dress code is mainly targeted towards girls. The dress code says that shorts need to be mid thigh but it doesn't state that we cannot wear athletic shorts at all. We understand that some athletic shorts are short for school but we don't think that it should be prohibited. The temperature is going up as the school year goes on, so girls are going to want to wear athletic shorts so we can be well situated in the school day and we could be more focused. Getting pulled out of class
One change i would recommend for the school dress code would be to let girls wear V neck shirts without a tank top. therefore Girls should be able to wear any type of shirt they want, without any problems. telling girls to cover up are saying to not be confident with their body. More people need to respect others body and not be so mean, Girls need to learn to feel confident with their body. With this being said Wearing V neck shirts that show a very little bit of skin or cleavage should not be a problem.
How far should kids be able to go before schools stop them from expressing themselves? If you look around the country at the more than 100,000 schools, you will see kids that are being held back from expressing themselves. You will see kids being restricted from wearing certain types of clothing. When schools start dictating what students can and cannot wear beyond reason, that's where the line needs to be drawn.
The people who are in charge of creating the school dress code don’t think of girls feelings, or their need to be an individual. There are also some unnecessary rules in schools, and what schools deemed inappropriate or distracting. The schools are taking some of the girls rights away. I believe that the dress code for the younger generation is too focused on girls, and it’s way too strict. Students should not have to wear school uniforms, some schools went for believing it would get rid of competition.
Nobody likes to have to wear clothes that are already chose for you. The dress code makes people make assumptions on you. Here are the pros and cons about having a dress code.
We all know that there is different rules in almost all school dress codes that apply to guys and girls. For example, at some schools guys can't wear beanies during class but girls can. A girl can't have shorts that reach before their fingertips when they have their arms down. I personally feel like there shouldn't be “dress code” because for many people they like to express themselves by what they wear, why should schools make people feel uncomfortable? Not having uniforms can make the students feel competitive on what they wear and where they have got their clothes from. For some students those things do matter, but for some of them it doesn’t matter they’re going to school to learn, not to impress people at school. Some schools hate what their students wear to school, but don’t they have like favorite pieces of clothing that they also love as much as the students do? If schools don't like what they are seeing in the student’s “outfits” each day then they should start making students to wear their school uniforms. 15 year old, Miranda Larkin, was sent to the nurse's office for wearing a short skirt that violated the school dress code, and they made
If I could change the dress code, I would suggest getting uniforms because there would be less wasted time in the morning, no one would bully other students based on what he or she is wearing, and it would be unlikely anyone would need to change during the school day. Uniforms would benefit everyone in the school. Teachers wouldn’t argue with students about whether something is appropriate. Students would focus more on academics if there weren’t distracting clothes.
One of the challenges I face in this school is the dress code. I believe the dress code is ridiculous, unnecessary, and not fair. One of the ways the dress code is not fair is the only dress code girls that are mainly in the 7th grade, and the boys could come to school with tank tops and shorts, and no one would care. As soon as a girl wears a shirt that has a 2 inch wide strap, all of the principles overreact, because it is “distracting.” Instead of dress coding the girls, they should educate these young boys on how to behave, and how to properly treat girls.
For decades there have been an abundance amount of gang activity going on around the world and it continues to grow. Every year there is an increasing amount of teenagers over 600,000 that are rushed to the emergency rooms and taken into hospital care due to gang related injuries (Forster, Grigsby, Unger & Sussman, 2015). Most of these children are very young and have not even enter high school, and others have not even completed middle school. Many of the teens that have been rushed to the hospital have also been involved in some sort of a serious violent gang related activity themselves, and by the age of 17, they would have already been in a physical fight, or would have already been initiated into a gang. In most cases when being initiated into a gang the member awaiting to be apart of a gang must commit some sort of crime, such as theft of a vehicle, or robbery.
As history has shown, people who immigrated to America had dramatically made America’s culture and population diverse. This is important because this shows how America is one of the few countries around the world to accept people from different ethnical backgrounds and cultures. Both Bradford and Tan are influential people who share their experiences from having to immigrate to America or having parents who immigrated here from another country. William Bradford is a pilgrim who shares his experiences coming to America and his relationship with the Natives. Amy Tan is a Chinese-American who shows her experiences growing up with her mom who was an immigrant, and how she worked her way up to become a successful writer. Although Bradford and Tan
When first beginning to read this novel the reader may think that all the stories that Jacob’s grandfather told were just fairy tales but in actuality they were all true stories and experiences from his childhood. Jacob and his grandfather are extremely close and Jacob was really the only one who understood his grandfather. Growing up, Jacob’s grandfather would tell him extravagant tales of his childhood and the children he grew up with. This tales included a boy who had bee’s living within him, an invisible boy, and extremely strong young girl, monsters, the enchanted island he lived on, and his headmistress who would turn into a bird. Everyone thought these stories were in fact, just stories;
