The author compares the difference from the past and the present and how the internet has changed not only himself, but others and the way that they are able to understand and focus due to the long-term use of the web. While comparing the past and the present the author gathers information from well know writers that feel the same way about the effects of the web. The author's choice of personal experiences, vivid imagery and analysis backed by research hook the reader and persuades them to believe that today's technology is causing mainly problems.
The virtuoso Leon Bix Beiderbecke was born in 1903 and died young in 1931. Though his life was short, Bix’s legacy was long-live. He was raised in Davenport, Iowa, by his mother Agatha and father Bismark. He was the youngest of the German middle class family, his father owned a lumber & coal company in east davenport while his mother was a pianist. As a boy, Bix Beiderbecke had a few piano lessons, but he was self-taught on cornet and developed an unorthodox technique by playing. He was blessed with the gift of a musical ear which helped him greatly throughout his career because he was not able to read music very well. If you were asked to name an influential person in history, who would you immediately think of? Most likely, the person is or was a politician, businessman, writer, etc. You most likely did not think of a musician. We, as a society, under appreciate the work of great musicians of our time as well as past times. For example, William Byrd was an extremely influential musician who lived from 1538-1623.
Who is the most popular musical artist in the last fifty years? This question has a variety of different answers, depending on who is being asked. There have been many influential artists in recent musical history. Some of these musicians, such as the legendary Elvis Presley, have had a profound impact on modern culture beyond the scope of their lifetime. During the late 20th century, one such man developed a career in the United Sates that would last for over 50 years and would inspire many other artists to pursue their careers. This man was Frank Sinatra. During his lifetime, Frank Sinatra managed to change modern music forever. Frank Sinatra is widely considered to be one of the greatest performers in the history of modern music.
The Internet provides learners and trainers with the ability to access large amounts of information quickly and easily. Turning this information into a valuable learning resource requires organisation, planning, and careful selection of material. Trainers/Tutors should select websites that are appropriate to the needs of their learners and that support the objectives of the curriculum. Learners should be encouraged to develop a variety of analytical, searching and critical thinking skills and strategies to become confident and competent users of the Internet. Selected websites will need to be revisited regularly, however, to ensure that the content and/or the URL have not changed.

One of the greatest jazz singers of this time was Bessie Smith. She was a southerner and her recordings were rare for black performers during her time.
